We have been dealing with South Africa as a tourist destination since prior to the majority-rule government of 1995, when only a handful of tour operators in the UK were selling the country. We have seen the product develop, and visitor numbers increase from the hundreds, to hundreds of thousands. Throughout this process we have been building relationships and refining our offering, to a point whe

re we don't believe our knowledge, contacts and expertise can be bettered. Similarly we have been dealing in Zimbabwe, Zambia, Botswana, Namibia, Mauritius and the Seychelles for 20+ years. We have been part of the growth of these countries as tourist destinations, and again we have developed relationships and expertise that enable us to offer a peerless service and knowledge. In East Africa (Kenya & Tanzania) and Central East Africa (Malawi, Rwanda, Uganda) we work with some of the most experienced operations on the ground in each country, bringing with them a wealth of experience.

It was only last week that Martin and our agents were still enjoying some incredible game sightings on safari in the Kruger National Park, Babanango Game Reserve and throughput their Kwa Zulu Natal
Journey. From the mighty Big Five 🐃🐘🦁🐆🦏to gorgeous 🦒 a family of cheetah and hyena and SO much more, everyone was wowed by their experiences Thank you South Africa 🇿🇦

It was a day of travelling whilst reminiscing all those incredible memories and experiences for Martin and our Fam Trip agents in South Africa
A very big thank you to all the suppliers and tourist boards for making this happen and for making it so special. Everyone had so enjoyed themselves, learning so much about South Africa, this spectacular “World in One Country”. By the sounds of things, we are sure many will be back again and we look forward to helping with even more enquiries!

Gosh as the last full day of their Fam Trip arrived, Martin and our lovely agents have reached the Burg for a memorable stay at Montusi Mountain Lodge. Set in the Drakensburg Mountains this is the perfect end to a trip whether it be to drink in the stunning views and chill or take advantage of the numerous activities available. Our group were treated to a very energetic walk further up into the hillside to an authentic bushman’s cave complete with cave drawings, a waterfall and even more great views
Then back to the lodge for an incredible lakeside boma style sundowners with such a hospitable lodge staff. Oh and a lake was mentioned, so sure enough Martin and some of our lovely agents did take the rather chilly plunge before heading back for yet enough delicious dinner and last night reflections on such an amazing Fam Trip

The Africa Collection Fam Trip group continued further into Kwa Zulu Natal to experience the incredibly moving Battlefield part of their trip

Staying at the incredibly beautiful Fugitives' Drift Lodge and Guest House which must have the best library view in the world and the pool view isn’t bad either! Lovely accommodation, delicious food and such hospitable staff. Martin and his team contains to be spoilt. You’ll see even Gerri the giraffe paid another visit.
The guides for the battlefield tours are so inspirational with their talks transporting you back to both of the tragic battles of Isandlwana and Rorkes Drift. Hearing about and reliving the horrors and bravery that all experienced in such stunning settings is so very heart wrenching, ant to then learn how both battles could and should have been avoided, so horrific and moving

On to the next step of Africa Collection’s amazing South African Fam Trip, Martin and our agents headed further into KZN to experience the Bush part of this trip, to the beautiful Babanango Game Reserve
Having been spoilt during their earlier Kruger stay and so many great game sigtings Babanango would have a tough act to follow, but this it did so well!’ With excellent sightings including white rhino and even a cheetah family spotted, that had eluded them previously Plus so many other great sightings including Lion Most of the group also experienced their first exciting walking safari, getting up close and personal with Eland, Wildebeest and not forgetting the Impala and some historic sites too
As for the stunning lodges, the group have been so well looked after and enjoyed all the great facilities, if only there was more time.

Martin and our Fam Trip group flew the short journey from Kruger to Durban to start the next stage of their South African journey
Their first night was at the fabulous beach front luxury boutique hotel in Ballito with a great choice of accommodation and incredible ocean views. With direct beach access it was t long before some were enjoying the warm Indian Ocean waves and beach. The perfect first night stay near Durban
Another short drive to Umhlanga for a memorable visit to another incredible hotel The Oyster Box. When in Durban and for their first Kwa Zulu Natal meal, it just had to be curry and boy do Oyster Box really know how get the taste buds rolling, yum
A truly great start to this the first step of their KZN Beach, Bush, Battlefields and Burg trip 🇿🇦🌞🌊@

Kruger National Park has certainly lived up to its reputation as being one of the foremost wildlife experiences in Africa, for Martin and our fam trip currently down in South Africa. Martin and our agents who are all first timers to Kruger, have been enjoying some incredible wildlife sightings and such memorable experiences. Also taking advantage of engaging with all the South African province’s here for the workshops arranged by South African Tourism.
