I love to make my clients special birthday trips extra special. I do go above and beyond to make this happen.

This last week, Mrs C was celebrating her birthday in The Maldives and Mr and Mrs W had booked a villa in Indonesia and we arranged a special meal to celebrate joint birthdays, cooked and served by their private pool.

After a good flight back to Gatwick and a steady 5 hour drive to Halifax, I’m back at my desk ready to serve ( and catch up! )
I’ve just checked in with 2 of my clients that departed whilst I was in St.Lucia, they are both delighted with their accommodation in Bangkok and in Indonesia, both are moving on to different regions today.
They’ve sent me pictures, the hotel in Bangkok has a boat transfer down river into the centre which they say is fabulous and look at this lush accommodation in Indonesia. Thank you for allowing me to share.
Today I’m delivering honeymoon tickets and working on enquiries, and making sure all my Half Term departures are ready to depart over the next few days.

Day 8 Last Day

And on the last day, we rested! No chance! The St. Lucian Tourist Board definitely has got everything out of me!
Another beautiful early swim before breakfast and then a very swift 15 minute drive to The Royalton Hotel, also known as Hideaway at The Royalton ( Adults Only ). This is a very large 5 star All Inclusuve, Beach Front Hotel. My first impression was ‘it’s huge!’ I warmed to it after visiting 9 of the speciality restaurants and could see the high quality and range of cuisine. I was shown the very well equipped gym, spa and excellent children’s club (4-12 year olds) Under 4 years do have a crèche and toddler area, but must be accompanied by an adult. The rooms and suites were very impressive. Immaculate, modern and well appointed. We were invited to have lunch here. I’m not a huge fan of all inclusive buffets but this was superb. Freshly cooked meats and fish, and hot and cold international dishes
Back to our hotel and for me I just wanted to enjoy the last bit of sun, so I pre booked the crazy sofa float and bounced around the waves! I enjoyed paddle board and the hobi sail.

Airport run now for this evenings British Airways direct flight to London. It’s been such a wonderful experience and I bring so many happy memories back with me and I hope I can share some of this destination with you.

Thank you for following my adventures, not only do you understand a little more about my commitment to travel, it has also helped me log each day to remind myself what I’ve done!

Day 7
Today was very special, I really felt I got to ‘feel’ St. Lucia and her people. Another fabulous hour swimming the calories of these last 6 days off and then over to Rodney Bay, just 15 mins away for some action! A Segway tour! I was thrilled to do this in Porto, so I was off! We followed our leader through the woodland and suburbs getting a feel of the homes and Sunday Living. We stopped down on the marina to listen about the history and culture, then down to the beach area. I totally loved this!
We then drove to the most beautiful 5 bedroom house called Cest Le Vie. I can sell this for groups or families and as a self cater or with staff to cook for you. The grounds and pool were lush and then a path down to the beach made this little dwelling so special. The hosts put on an amazing lunch and everything was just stunning!
Back to The Landings for some Sunday Sun! We had some welcome downfalls and then a rainbow over the marina and boats, which for me always reminds me of my Dad. A little tear appeared, as my Dad loved travel and boats. I think he would have been so pleased I was experiencing all this
Back out for 7 pm! Another fabulous villa experience. October is Creole Festival so the tartan is all over and here were in the folklore dancers costumes and the table decorations. We were danced, played and served. Just so special and an evening I will always remember.
I fell in love with St Lucia even more today!

Day 6
Time to swim in the pool and wander around the marina before breakfast.
Our vehicle then left to head to Cap Maison. We were greeted by the owner, Ross who really emphasised from check in to check out that this was a special place. Honesty shop and honesty bar. This was definatley a high quality boutique hotel. We were shown a pool suite and an ocean facing premium room. At midday we went down the 200 steps to their beachfront restaurant, The Naked Fisherman and enjoyed a delicious fish stew. Great vibe at this hotel and its setting.
We then travelled further round to our second Sandals property, Sandals Grande. So much more different to Sandals La Toc. This seemed on a higher level of quality and not as busy. We had a bit of waiting time for our host, so I took a beach front walk and watched some water sports and looked at 4 of the waterfront restarsunts. There are 12 different in total… Indian, Japanese, Italian, Seafood……….
We then travelled next door to our final hotel stay, The Landings. Wow! Beautiful enterance and the setting is stunning. We were quickly met by the reservations manager who escorted us round some of the public areas. I’m staying in a 3 bedroom beach front villa. It’s stunning and well equipped. Just one floor up in directly above the beach.
Back out for 7 pm for an amazing 5 course meal by the marinas edge, hosted by the Reservations Manager and Reception Manager.

Day 5
Another busy day! Its not all sunbathing and chilling!
8 am start over to Calabash Cove Hotel. I liked this alot, just 36 rooms which are all ocean facing. Infinity pool, bar overlooking the bay and a swim up pool bar. A path leading down to the beach. We checked out 2 of the room categories.
20 minute drive to Windjammer Landing, 5 star hotel resort. This is a large resort hotel. We took the hotel shuttle bus up to one of its 4 bedroom villa pool properties, which had amazing views. We then went to check out one of the ocean front suites which had a spectacular view. This property operates several meal plans and has a butler service if required.
Another drive to East Winds. This really is a hidden secret! Pink was scattered everywhere. Honesty bar (help yourself! as its all inclusive!) swim up bar, yoga area in the trees, cute cottages and a beautiful cove, where I got 25 minutes to jump in the sea! We had lunch here which was delicious, just a small buffet, but presented well and so fresh and tasty.
From here we went to BodyHoliday - another totally different property! Huge emphasis on wellness and fitness. Beach location, stunning rooms ( I viewed 3 types ). I chatted with the Scuba Diving instructors and was informed you could learn here, or if you have your PADI certificate, you can take a daily complimentary dive. The restaraunts and menu looked fabulous. A couple more villas thrown in and then back to Zoetry, where I wrote up my notes before a dip in the pool ahead of dinner down on the marina.
This island really does have something for everyone.

Time to enjoy this!
I promised to show you my ‘pad ‘. This is what I woke up to, The Penthouse Suite!

Day 4
A long, tiring but exciting day! A 60 minute beautiful yacht transfer from our hotel in the South up to Rodney Bay in the North.
We were escorted round 4 villas with private pools and 1 condo on the marina with direct access to the waters edge.
From here we went to Sandals Le Toc and were hosted in the all inclusive restaraunt by the pool. We were shown 4 categories of the 9 levels of rooms. This hotel is directly on Casties beach.
We then were transported to Stolen Time by Rendezvous on Malabar Beach. I loved this property. Beautiful spa, pools and grounds. Complimentary scuba diving and spa access. We viewed a pool suite with verandah and looked at premier rooms and the beach front rooms which have their own sun beds in front on the beach.
One hour drive to our hotel for the next 2 nights. Beautiful Zoetry, where the original Dr Doolittle was filmed! We arrived in darkness and I’ve woken in darkness. I am excited to see what daylight brings, as my golf buggy driver escorted me to my room, he smiled and said those magic words , ‘you’ve been upgraded to the penthouse suite ‘ I’ll post these later when the sun lights it all up !
The trip that keeps on giving!

Day 3
Another early morning swim in the sea before breakfast on the open air restaraunt. We then took the boat round to the next bay ( a beautiful 8 minute ride ) to Soufriere. Our taxi then took us to Hotel Ledera. A very tranquil 39 room resort hotel ( all brown wooden )with every room having a pool and view of the Pitons.
Our next hotel was to a much larger property, being Sugar Beach. This was very luxurious and situated right on a glorious beach again with the back drop of The Pitons. We visited the tranquil spa ( individual tree houses ) the tennis club, kids club, restaurants, and sports area.
Sugar Beach Management hosted lunch here by the beach, which was outstanding.
Next stop was to The Sulphur Springs where we watched the springs in action and then took a sulphur/mud bath ( left phone safely in vehicle so no pictures )
A 15 minute drive next to Hotel Chocolat! Beautiful setting, very tranquil, with wellness being very much their expectation for their guests. We visited a lodge cabin and a 4 bedroom villa. The Management then treated us to a chocolat experience finished with. Chocolat Baileys ( just chocolate for me ) on the gorgeous terrace
Last visit of the day was to experience an Ultra Luxurious 6 bedroom villa. Just amazing. I glanced at the visitors book and a few celebrities and footballers had stayed here. Great experience
Our hotel boat was waiting for us at 6 pm to take us back round to our hotel for a very quick turn round to be hosted by the management of Jade Mountain with a set meal on the roof terrace from a sunset to a full moon.
Still pinching myself!
Tomorrow we move hotels to experience the North of the island.

Day 2
After an early morning swim in the sea we did room inspections at both Anse Chastanet and Jade Mountain. I remember watching a documentary last year on the BBC about Jade Mountain ( top 25 hotels in the world ) never thinking I would be in one of their rooms with infinity pools overlooking the Pitons. We then went to the hotels chocolate room! We learnt about the chocolate bean on the island and had a few tasters! ( yummy)
We caught the resident boat round to the next bay for lunch and had ‘the best burgers in The Caribbean’ on the beach.
The hotel provides a complimentary daily forest tour with Father Nature ( Meno ) which was fascinating, smelling and tasting the different leaves and herbs.
The boat took us back round to our bay, with a quick turn around I went snorkelling which was awesome.
We met back on the beach in the evening for an amazing International buffet which is a weekly event and were entertained by a steel band. Such a great day! Loving St.Lucia and her people.

Arrival day was incredible yesterday. The helicopter was a spectacular 12 minute smooth ride instead of a 40 minute taxi journey. I am staying at the incredible Anne Chastanet St Lucia which adjoins the Jade Mountain Resort, which is in the top 25 hotels in the world!
My suite is stunning and overlooks the bay and mountains
We were hosted on the Jade Mountain terrace by the staff and then a 6 course pairing menu down at Anse Chastanet Saint Lucia
Today we have a full day of inspections and excursions.

I’ve been in Spain a few days for some much needed sun and relax. I’ve enjoyed beach days and exploring the lesser known traditional villages on the Costa Del Sol.
But today’s pictures are of Nerja. I caught the bus down the coast to visit this beautiful coastal town. Being passionate about my job, I always like to try and fit a hotel inspection in. Today I was invited to The Hotel De Europa. I’ve been booking clients here for many years. I wanted to see if this 4 star beach front hotel was still as good as my clients have told me over the years.
Customer Services Employee, Maria showed me all 4 room types, aswell as the public areas, restaraunts, infinity pool and whirlpool bath, the beach and lounging area, gym and reading lounge. I thought the rooms were well appointed and good. I’ve taken videos of a couple of the rooms.
I then enjoyed the streets and shops, a bit of tapas and a couple of hours on the beach in the 29 degrees sun.
Not bad for a Tuesday in October!
