🪷 What is Hanachozu?
If you've been to a Shinto Shrine or Buddhist Temple in Japan, you'll often see a water basin for you to wash and purify your hands at the entrance. That is called a "Chozuya".
In recent years, especially during covid, when sharing a hand washing basin was not encouraged, many shrines and temples have started to decorate their Chozuya with beautiful flowers ("Hana" in Japanese). And this is how Hanachozu became popular.
