Winterton Beach is just an hours drive from Friends Farm. At this time of year the whole beach is littered with hundreds of seals with their new born pups.
It's amazing to see so many wild seals in their natural environment. It's one of those go to places when you visit Norfolk.

Today we drove 40 minutes to Southwold Harbour and crossed the river before heading out onto the marshes for an amazing circular walk. There was an abundance of bird life including these magnificent swans that flew right over our heads, redshank, cormorant, heron, egret, curlew and many more. We even got watched by an inquisitive seal.
We continued our walk across Walberswick heath and common, before heading back to the harbour for fish and chips . Then off to a deserted for a cup of tea at before heading home.
Such a great day out. Definitely worth a visit at this time of year when you stay at

The huts are looking amazing in the autumn sun.
There's great views around every corner and some stunning fungi along the footpaths.
Both huts have great little woodburners with free firewood to keep you warm and cosy.
There is also plenty to see and do in the area through the year.

There's still time to book a short winter break at Friends Farm. Both huts have lovely little log burners to keep you warm and cosy. There's plenty to see and do nearby, with miles of footpaths and quiet country lanes on the doorstep, the local market towns if Harleston and Bungay are just a short drive away. Great sunsets can be seen from the huts. We've also got Grain Brewery, Flint Vinyard and Flixton Aviation Museum within easy reach

Great sunset this evening. This was the view from the aptly named Shepherds View. Our other hut is called Shepherds Delight. Both huts share a small fenced paddock so your dogs can enjoy their freedom. Perfect autumn and winter retreats, where you can hide away and enjoy those lovely sunsets and ever changing views. We leave areas around the hut uncut to allow wild flowers and wildlife to flourish. The trees and hedges were all planted six years ago and are starting to blend in in nicely around the huts, making a really nice spot to sit, relax and listen to the birds.
