This spell of great weather has enabled us to get out and enjoy the waters around here. On Thursday we had a trip to the Shiant Islands, very different without the normal summer covering of birds, but still spectacular.

On Friday we had the pleasure of taking Juliette and her friends out for her birthday and we were all rewarded with a visit form a couple of pods of dolphins.

Here are some photos of the two days and also some dolphin videos to follow. I make no apology for sharing so many of them, they never fail to excite when you see them approaching the boat😀. And the excitement of the kids (and adults) made the day even more enjoyable

It was a real pleasure to be able to take my friend, ex classmate and work colleague, Angus Morrison and some of his family to visit the village of Mollinginish and the house where his father was born in 1923. It was an added bonus to be able to get into the house, thanks to Anna MacInnes. A great end to our week 😀

One Moment One Crew

Today - on 1/8/24 - at 1824 hours - stations all around the UK gathered to mark 200 years of service by the RNLI.

Stations were asked to take a picture to commemorate this moment & submit the image to a central portal where the images will be used to create a mural to mark this special anniversary 💙

At 1824, on Thursday 1/8/24 the crew of Leverburgh RNLI were out on exercise and took this snap ashore at Lingay in the Sound of Harris. Thanks to Kieran (helm), Alex (nav) Donald (crew) and Matthew (trainee) for sharing this picture with us!

We look forward to seeing images from other stations and the mural which will be created using them all!

Next in our series is a familiar face to many: Marie Morrison, known to us as MM.

Raised in Scalpay and now living in Stockinish, Marie attended the local school where she later worked in the Support for Learning Department.

In October 2016, Marie began baking part-time for the distillery cafe before transitioning to a seasonal tour guide role in March 2018.

Since 2020, Marie has been our Lead Tour Guide, overseeing all aspects of our tour experience and managing our team of tour guides.

When asked what she loves most about being part of the distillery team, Marie shared, "There are 2 things! It's not just a job; it's the opportunity to share our incredible story and create friendships with people from all over the world. Secondly, it's our amazing team. We have a fabulous group of people."

Well, after a number of different challenges and hold-ups we are finally able to start doing trips this summer. Apologies to everyone who has been unable to book with us up to now but hopefully all will go smoothly from now on - all we need is good weather.
