The Christmas market season is almost upon us! Harrogate's Christmas Fayre promises to be bigger and better than ever, with an open-air ice rink to add to its many other attractions, such as a Ferris wheel and Helter Skelter, rows of stalls with local & craft present ideas and of course the food and drink stands. Open from 2 - 11 December, except the ice rink, which is here until 3 January. Knaresborough's traditional Christmas Market is on over the first weekend of December and Skipton's, which combines tradition with eccentricity, takes place on the first two Sundays of the month.

If you're considering a short break to soak up the atmosphere of one or more of our local Christmas markets, why not stay in a property with a hot tub for you to head back to after a hard day's shopping? Still plenty of availability in the first two weeks of December - contact us with your preferred travel dates for a quotation!

Meanwhile, November is filling up apace - we have just one midweek break left, to begin on either Sunday 20 or Monday 21. Get in touch if you would like to know more!

The AGA: terrifying, unfathomable beast or the easiest thing you'll ever cook on for the tastiest results?

We know which camp we fall into and we reckon any sceptics will be converted! We've written a beginners' guide for any guests who might need it and there are several AGA cookbooks for you to dip into as well.

So why not give the AGA a whirl - safe in the knowledge that there's a Rangemaster double electric oven as back-up!
