The Travel Journal has been successfully shortlisted for ‘Independent Luxury Retail Business of the Year’ at this year’s national Aspire Luxury Travel Awards 2024 🏆. We had a blast at last year’s awards as an onlooker whilst cheering on our industry friends, but this year we will be competing to bring the 🏆 back to Yorkshire! HAPPY 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣4️⃣!!! Barbs 🇧🇧, as always, you’ve been a complete blast! The perfect tonic for complete relaxation. We’ve lived like Bajan’s, with the odd peppering of indulgence thrown in along the way. It had been 4yrs since our last trip ‘back home’ and a lot has changed in that time, some change for the better, and yes, unfortunately some change for the worse. These trips are always a ‘fact finding’ mission to make sure we’re armed with the most up to date intel to inform you, our clients, so please feel free to get in touch if Barbados is on your wish list for 2024, we’d love to tell you all about it. We land back into Manchester tomorrow and our first official day back into the agency is this coming Friday (05th) BUT we have a sneaky feeling Ben may be venturing into the agency at some point tomorrow afternoon to make an appearance as he is rearing for takeoff and the enquiries and bookings have already been surging poolside! Just excuse his appearance if he is rocking the Havaiana’s, shorts, and beach hair in the bleak of a wet/ windy Yorkshire winter…it’s what we call ‘airport to agency’ ready!!! 😂 We can’t wait to see you all soon.

And just like that, HAPPY 1ST OF DECEMBER!!! We can now officially start talking about Christmas, YAY!!! The Travel Journal have once again decided not to send Christmas cards this year and will instead be donating funds to a locally chosen charity. This year we have donated £250.00 to Yorkshire Aid Convoy. Yorkshire Aid Convoy are currently on mission no.7 to Ukraine since the Russian Invasion, this time, delivering presents to children's orphanages in time for the big day itself. Yorkshire Aid Convoy do an outstanding job and help make so many children smile in a country that continues to suffer daily bombardment and utter devastation. We’re now back in the agency after spending 48hrs in Mykonos experiencing first-hand the stunning new uber-luxurious Cali Mykonos. As always, Mykonos never fails to impress. Sophisticated, refined, and incredibly polished…it’s the land of the beautiful and we just simply can’t get enough of it! Now is the time to be planning summer 2024! WE’RE BACK! We decided to practice what we preach and took a much needed holiday to rest and recharge at the fabulous in the Maldives. We’ve returned relaxed, refreshed and dare we say it, even a bit zen?! We’re now firing on all cylinders and ready for a very busy September of departures, new enquiries, and bookings.

The Travel Journal we’re extremely honoured and fortunate to have been invited to be amongst the first ever UK trade passengers to sail on the brand new, luxury, Explora Journeys ‘Explora I’ shakedown voyage from Portsmouth to Copenhagen at the weekend. ‘Venture into the familiar and navigate the world with The Travel Journal’. NEW WINDOW, NEW HOURS!!! It’s been a long hard slog and a long time coming, but starting this Monday 19th June we will be allowing Ben a day off by closing the agency on a Monday (we think he’s earn’t it!?😂). Whilst Ben will be off, he will always be contactable via 📞 & 📧 should you need us in case of an emergency. We will also be operating an advance appointment system for Monday’s going forward, so please get in touch to book in! Finally, we would like to give a heartfelt thank you, to YOU, our loyal clients💛. It’s only because of your constant and amazing ongoing support that we’re now in a very lucky and fortunate position to grow and adapt the business in our own individual and independent way! EASTER BANK HOLIDAY OPENING HOURS 📣. The Easter bank holiday weekend is fast approaching us. Our agency will be closing for the Easter weekend at 1pm on Thursday 06th April and will resume normal trading from Tuesday 11th April. This Easter we will be eating our Easter choccies (Maltesers?!) in Valletta, we’re just hoping that our revisit to the Barrakka Gardens will not resemble the aftermath of the front-row seat on the log flume like the last time we were there (photo evidence below) 💦 😂. Happy Easter everyone!!! 🐣🥚🍫

It’s a miracle 🙏 The 31st January has finally arrived! 😂. January 2023 has officially been the longest and busiest month in history. Record breaking and epic on every level and there’s still one day of trading to go, but the finish line is well and truly insight! We hope you have all been happy with the service you have received this month whilst booking your dream holidays with and we would like to THANK YOU all for your continued support and loyalty, it means the 🌍 to us.‼️Please note the agency will be closed on Saturday 04th February in order for Ben to have a much needed lie down and 2 day rest before the travel madness of February commences‼️

Ho, ho, ho!

Just 11 more sleeps until the big man arrives! We like to give all our clients and admirers plenty of notice when it comes to irregular agency opening hours and this festive season we are combining family time with some much needed R&R before we go full throttle again in January for the peak booking season!

So here we go, this is when you can catch us at the agency over the festive period and into the new year...

Saturday 24th – Tuesday 27th December CLOSED FOR XMAS.

Wednesday 28th December NORMAL OPENING HOURS

Friday 30th – Friday 06th January CLOSED FOR ANNUAL LEAVE (taking our little Louis to the Cornish seaside for his jollies)

Monday 09th January – Thursday 12th January CLOSED FOR ANNUAL LEAVE (we're going to freeze our ni***es off in the Arctic circle, whilst partaking in some 'once in a lifetime' winter activities and maybe catch a glimpse of the northern lights if we're lucky?!?!)
