GALSS FISH
There are a couple of species of fish commonly referred to as "glass fish" found in the Red Sea. The most likely one you'd encounter is the Red Sea Dwarf Sweeper (also known as the Pygmy Sweeper). These small fish, only about 4 inches long, have a translucent body with a silvery sheen and a yellow head. They are social fish and can be seen in large schools around coral reefs, caves, and wrecks.

Our travel partner Nicola Bell ElHadidy at Harris Travel has been inundated with messages over the Palestine/Israel conflict and how it affects Egypt.

The short answer is, it doesn't. Egypt is not involved in the conflict, they are neutral.

For as long as I can remember the border between Egypt and Gaza has been 'red' on the FCDO map and tourists have always been advised not to travel in this area. The distance between Hurghada and the Gaza border is the equivalent to Glasgow and London, in fact further. There is absolutely nothing to worry about.

Sharm el Sheikh, Dahab, Hurghada, Marsa Alam, Cairo, Luxor, Aswan and many other places of interest to tourists within Egypt are in no way restricted.

Everything is normal in Egypt. Come on your holiday, enjoy the sunshine and the Egyptian hospitality and make the most of your well deserved break.

The FCDO website is the best place to keep up to date with any travel advice, you can find it here:

HAMMER HEAD SHARKS
n The Red Sea scalloped hammerhead sharks can be seen in the early morning as they come close to the reefs from the open ocean to visit cleaning stations. They are usually seen in large groups while hunting schools of tuna, jack and mackerel. The best chance to see these incredible sharks is at dive sites like Daedalus, Elphinstone The best time of year .from MAY to November

Hawksbill Turtle
Hawksbills are named for their narrow, pointed beak. They also have a distinctive pattern of overlapping scales on their shells that form a serrated-look on the edges. These colored and patterned shells make them highly-valuable and commonly sold as "tortoiseshell" in markets.
Hawksbills are found mainly throughout the world's tropical oceans, predominantly in coral reefs. They feed mainly on sponges by using their narrow pointed beaks to extract them from crevices on the reef, but also eat sea anemones and jellyfish. Sea turtles are the living representatives of a group of reptiles that has existed on Earth and travelled our seas for the last 100 million years. They are a fundamental link in marine ecosystems and help maintain the health of coral reefs and sea grass beds.

manta ray
also called devil ray, any of several genera of marine rays comprising the family Mobulidae (class Selachii). Flattened and wider than they are long, manta rays have fleshy enlarged pectoral fins that look like wings; extensions of those fins, looking like a devil’s horns, project as the cephalic fins from the front of the head. Manta rays have short whiplike tails provided, in some species, with one or more stinging spines.
