A great spring day in Brighton for us yesterday taking a lovely group over to take part in the half marathon, enhanced by celebrations going on for the 50th anniversary of ABBA winning the 1974 Eurovision Song Contest in Brighton too!

We enjoyed an invitation to the Safeguard Coaches 100th Anniversary Celebration staged at Guildford cathedral yesterday. A special park and ride service for visitors was provided with some special vehicles.
For us we were delighted to officially announce a handover of our 1963 Bedford J2 back into the Safeguard fleet as part of their Heritage Collection, a coach they operated in the 1960’s!
We still have our 1967 Bedford though, it’s staying with us and available for hire for any occasion!

We have visited some fine venues this season, one of them being the 4 star Buxted Park Hotel. This grand palladian mansion was built in 1722 and is set in 312 acres of parkland with the Church of St Margaret The Queen as its close neighbour.

Our clients had the chance to take in the opera at nearby Glyndebourne Opera House, enjoyed touring Ashdown Forest and shopping in Brighton!

We love diverse bookings and recently enjoyed a weeks tour with a group from Japan!
By invitation we visited a very interesting property, the privately owned Braylsham Castle in East Sussex. The group also enjoyed our tailor made Sussex tour with a super pub lunch stop at the New Inn in Westfield.

Of the many interesting places we take groups to around the country, we recently visited St Albans Cathedral, shrine of Britains first Saint. It also may well have a 1066 connection, as it’s thought to be the final resting place of William I, known of course as William the Conqueror.

Today a mother and her young son came into our yard to ask if we could help her son who had fallen over and cut his knees and arm.

She was very grateful that we could give him some First Aid, so that they could carry on with their day at the beach.

A few hours later they arrived back at our depot with a Thank You card and a bar of chocolate for helping them.

Our hearts could have melted, such a kind gesture and very much appreciated.

Thank you both for your lovely gift, it makes you realise helping others means so much ☺️

Even though our late July weather is a little unsettled, we have just had a glorious day transporting a lovely group to their wedding service and then reception at Frickley Lake near Battle. Nice to see the blue sky and white clouds behaving!

What a lovely surprise we recently had, when we received a visit from Lodges Coaches, who called in to say ‘hello’ with their 1956 Bedford Duple Vega 41 seat coach.

Not the type of vehicle you see everyday at our depot unless one of our little Bedford J2’s is visiting too!

We actually owned a similar coach to this between 1968 until 1972. Maybe some of you remember it?!
