So this is big bad news for travellers today and this will also have impact in the next few days as the planes are misplaced and out of sync -

I’m in touch with all of my travellers in date order but if you don’t book through a travel professional then a few tips:

📇make sure airline has all your email and mobile numbers
✈️if your flight has been cancelled check when the next suitable alternative is
☎️it’s unlikely you will get through to the airline now they will need time to sort through this mess
✈️consider indirect routes home if needed

Keep yourself Updated and Check Heathrow’s official website and social media for real-time updates.
Monitor airlines’ websites and flight tracking apps like FlightAware.
When you can Rebook Flights ASAP via apps and websites, or customer service lines if you are in the airport. But don’t head to the airports early they are refusing entry in LHR.
Consider alternative routes—smaller UK airports, European hubs (Paris, Amsterdam, Frankfurt), or regional connections.
Secure Lounge Access & Comfort
Look for hotels close by if overnight stays are needed—some may offer day rates.
Look at your Travel Insurance. If flights are delayed over 3 hours, passengers may be entitled to EU261 compensation (except for extraordinary circumstances). Check your travel insurance for reimbursement so you are aware of your entitlements.
