Lane End Farm is a working hill farm in the heart of the Hope Valley in Derbyshire. The Trust provides a simple environment where disabled and disadvantaged young people can be at one with nature and connect with their beautiful surroundings and our animals. It provides accommodation in a converted stone barn. The interior has been specifically designed for wheelchair users, having adjustable-heig
ht kitchen facilities, generous space to move around in the open-plan kitchen, dining and lounge area, a specialist bedroom and wet room, and an easily convertible bedroom area and en-suite for the parents or carer. It is all on one level with several glazed doors that give breathtaking views of the surrounding hills. There is wheelchair access around the immediate farm buildings, to the chicken hut, up to the vegetable plot, and to the farmhouse kitchen. Residents are welcome to help grow the vegetables, collect eggs, help cook simple meals and join us for lunch. They are also welcome to help feed the lambs and goats, see the horses, dogs & cattle, and perhaps join a trek using our horse drawn carriage, designed to carry a wheelchair.
