The Annexe is in the centre of Pembrokeshire, perfectly located for making the most out of our stunning county whether you’re looking for a classic seaside day out at Tenby, chasing our fascinating history at St Davids Cathedral, Pembroke Castle, St Govans Chapel or Castell Henllys Iron Age Fort, seeking the sights and thrills of our stunning coastal features of the coastal path and the Green Bridge of Wales, an animal lover making friends with the puffins of Skomer Island or having a fun day out at Folly Farm, or a culture vulture searching for Welsh tapestry in Solva, love spoons in Kilgetty or tasting our delicious Welsh treats from all over the county.

It’s been a busy first couple of months for The Annexe and we’ve loved welcoming such lovely guests to stay, hearing where they’ve visited and seeing their wonderful reviews and top tips ( and get honourable mention!).

Getting out of bed on a Friday morning is hard, but leaving our master bedroom is even harder! Luckily, there’s too many adventures waiting for you in Pembrokeshire to spend all day in bed! This is easily our favourite room in the Annex, with its own walk-in-wardrobe, en-suite, and countryside views 😍

☀️We’re busy spending the weekend on the patio topping up our tans (read: freckles).

Not all getaways are meant for action-packed adventures. Sometimes the perfect trip away is about relaxing with friends or family, and a change of scenery.

The patio in the Annexe is a little sun trap, making it perfect for making the most of the sunshine with breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks al fresco, or just soaking up the rays and catching up on your holiday read. And with our patio festoon lighting, there’s reason to enjoy the fresh air long after the sun has set.

Time to switch off, disconnect and just listen to the birds, bees, sheep and cows in the neighbouring hedges, trees and grazing fields. 🌸🐝

🌧️After the glorious sunshine over the weekend, it’s now the perfect weather to cwtch up after a rainy day exploring Pembrokeshire and try out some of our yummy welsh recipes from 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 issue and recipe cards in the Annexe

Diolch for these foodie goodies which we picked up at the St David’s Day Weekend Market at back in March. The welsh cake recipe has been particularly popular with our guests!

Happy Bank Holiday Monday ☀️

It’s a fantastic day for exploring. One of our favourite spots is Skomer Island, where you can see the adorably cute and friendly puffins 🐧

Boat trips to Skomer Island with run from Martin’s Haven, just 30 minutes from . The crossing takes 15 minutes, so you can be in puffin paradise in just 45 minutes. Skomer trips start at £24pp.

This is a Pembrokeshire must, and something you’ll remember forever.

📍LOWER TOWN QUAY, FISHGUARD A harbour-lovers paradise, the idyllic quayside at Lower Town Fishguard will transport you back to old fashioned Pembrokeshire coastal life. It’s no wonder that this quaint little fishing town was chosen as the backdrop for the films Moby Dick and Under Milk Wood, enticing Hollywood royalty Richard Burton, Elizabeth Taylor, Gregory Peck and Peter O’Toole to its charm. If you’re feeling adventurous, the clear waters are perfect for swimming, stand up paddle boarding and kayaking, but you’d be forgiven for whiling away a lovely couple of hours just drinking in the scenery from one of the many benches lining the quay. The little Yacht Club Café @fbyc_cafe at the end of the quay is a local must, serving a range of locally caught seafood, along with homemade ice cream and gorgeous cakes, with a handful of tables available outside looking straight onto the water. Lower Town is just a 25 minute drive from @meadowcrofthaylett via the Fishguard Road (A40). There are a small number of parking spaces at the end of the quay, but we’d recommend using the larger car park by the bridge and enjoying the short walk along the quayside.
