Wendy has started her visit to Serenity with a cracking 37lb 4oz mirror, a new female lake record! Caught on an Avon Quiver and method feeder it shows match tactics work for big fish as well!

Another double thirty day! 33 and 32lb, the mirror is a new thirty, I caught it last June on a waggler at 27lb 8oz so great to see it packing on the weight. That’s 8 different thirties out so far this year and well over 1 in 5 fish (closer to 1 in 4) has been over 30lb!

New lake record common out! 36.4! This one is packing on the weight and is part of a three fish haul in his first 24hrs here for an average of 30lb! Some awesome fish in serenity which is just getting better and better! Fingers crossed for a 40 this year! This fish has averaged 5-6lb/year growth since stocking

Serenity lakes can never be called a ‘runs’ water but when it does produce then the results are awesome! Guests Harry and Steph have smashed it today with not one but two thirties (30 and 32) In fact, four of the last 7 fish caught have been over thirty pounds!

NEW LAKE RECORD ALERT!!! Richard had a great start to his weekend with a lovely 25lb linear followed by the big girl at 38lb 2oz!! Smashed the previous record by over 6lb!! How long till we have a 40??!

We netted the lake this morning to remove small home grown fish and give the big girls more space to grow, and growing they have been! I em extremely confident of our first forty pound carp this year, and with the small fish gone our average fish will now be closer to thirty than twenty pounds. In fact the biggest fish was 6lb over our current lake record, and a further six fish we weighed this morning beat the record!

New thirty alert! 31.4, I will check my records but may well be a first capture. I also winked out a 27 common in the blazing sun. I love seeing 30’s come out, will never tire of it!

I chucked some rods out today whilst getting the huts ready for todays guests and had this beautiful 29lb 12 oz carp, it will be a new thirty in a month I reckon!

It’s been a great start to the year with returning guest Charlie absolutely smashing the fishing this week, taking the most fish caught by a guest in a visit to 7 (and its January!!) and nailing a new lake record common at the same time at 29.5 backed up with 2 x 26lb 2 x 23lb a 21 and 15. Giving an average weight of over 23lb. What’s even better is that the 29 common was stocked at 8-10lb three seasons ago which is fantastic growth. My plan has always been to get the average up to over 30lb, Its heading nicely in the right direction!

So two things have happened at Serenity lakes today, I discovered Swanny has laid an egg six months early and is nesting safely on the island. She was also brooding s solar light as well as the egg but the good natured girl she is she let me take it out her nest with very good grace! Also the fabulous Bill from Rusty Creations (on fb) delivered a fantastic fish sculpture, now our fisherfolk can always get a picture with a Serenity lake fish, even when they are being stubborn!

We have some capacity for mid-week breaks over the coming months. Why not treat yourself to a few days' peace in our lakeside shepherd's hut? Our huts all have heating and are well insulated. The hot tub is also a fantastic place to enjoy the excellent autumnal view!

Returning guest Steve managed a fantastic new PB yesterday, a 31lb mirror, a fish he has named ‘Chappers’ I am looking forward to our first 30lb common, it won’t be long, I saw one cruising this summer alongside the mighty Trevor, and it made Trevor look small!

Great few days on the lake this week, five fish out this week, 4 new PB’s for clients! 18lb, 23lb 26lb. 30.02lb (on a quiver tipped feeder rod of all things!!) and 31lb! Serenity is not a runs water by any means, but my aim is to develop a venue which produces personal bests over quantity. We are well on the way to that target!

One lucky guest had 4 carp this weekend, averaging 24.5lb! Topped with Trevors Mate at 27.5lb I think it’s safe to say our average size carp is now over 20lb! I’m expecting some more new thirties to come out this year!

We have had a busy start to 2022, our first fisherman of the year had three lovely carp, 27.5lb, 25lb and 21lb. the 27lb linear mirror had escaped capture for three years till now! still lots of uncaught fish to over 30lb, and plenty of availability for winter breaks, especially when the quality of fish are so good, I’m amazed how few of our clients fish when they come!

It’s December, which can only mean one thing - time for the Christmas trees to make an appearance at Serenity Lakes. Each year the potted trees are planted when Christmas is done to add to the forest around the huts.

We still have some space for short breaks over the coming months. 🎄

Shaun Sanderson caught this carp this evening from serenity at 24lb, this was stocked two and a half years ago at 9lb!! That’s pretty good growth!

One of our guests Jac Daniels, (staying in brand new hut two!) landed our first 30lb carp last night!! It’s called Trevors Mate, and was bang on 30lb! I think I’m possibly more excited than he was!
