Up the coast from Herdwicks is Whitehaven. A Harbour town with a lot of history. It's a scenic drive up along the coast with some lovely villages on the way. Or hop on the train from Millom up the West Coast, it's scenic enough that's it's often on the TV, scenic rail journeys

Herdwicks Holiday Home a large 4 bedroomed holiday let is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty. We are next to a long circular walk around the sea wall and lagoon through the RSPB Hodbarrow nature reserve. Small areas where dogs are to be kept on the lead where the Arctic Terns nest otherwise there are lots of open safe areas where dogs can be let off, to run or you can safely cycle. There is an abundance of wildlife, and bird hides where you can watch migrating birds, the occasional kingfisher and if your very lucky seals or otters in the bay.
