๐- Aka - Dame Armine Le Strange - who lived at the Hunstanton hall in the mid-18th century as the lady of the manor.
๐ญ Rumour has it after her brother Henry died there was a beautiful carpet which had been presented to the family from the exquisite talents of the weavers of the Far East. The lady of the manor became very attached to the carpet and made it her dying wish for the carpet to remain after her passing - however when renovations began from the new residents the carpet was re-homed and the hauntings beganโฆ
Resistant to tales of the deceased the residents ignored the strange pacing of footsteps but when the haunting continued, they finally had the rugs recovered โ and sewn together again to make the old carpet complete -
But it was too late: Dame Armineโs last wish had been ignored. She can still be seen wandering through the Hall today, lamenting the loss of her beloved carpetโs beauty.

๐ณ Part of the Royal Sandringham Estate, Wolferton is a small village just a short drive from Poppyโs and Daisyโs.
๐ฅพ A beautiful woodland walk or longer circular walks - itโs a great place to take in the wilderness all year round.
๐ In the warmer months - the reserve comes alive with colour - bringing with it some insects such as the Black Darter Dragonfly and Light Knot Grass moth - and if you visit in the evening thereโs even a good chance of seeing glow-worms ๐ซ
๐พ Whilst it is a great place to walk with the dogs, please note that they must be kept on a lead throughout the reserve to not startle the livestock - along with deer & munt jacks - Galloway Black Cattle can often be seen grazing the reserve in herds ๐ฎ
๐นAll of Dersingham Bog is open access and there are many well-marked routes to help visitors explore this beautiful natural wilderness. There are two car parks at Wolferton and Scissors Cross - both of which can be found on the road to Wolferton off the A149
