Not only is Hope & Resistance the official beer of the Hebden Bridge Film Festival, but we are the official after party on the closing night this Sunday!

We will be keeping the kitchen open until 10pm so no one misses out!

I’m so grateful for the lovely reviews of my first tour of Hebden Bridge and am excited to show you around the village of Heptonstall in April.
I’m also excited about developing future tours in the magnificent Lake District featuring the home of the much loved children’s author Beatrix Potter and the stunning landscape that inspired her stories about inhabitants of the natural world. Also the little known location of a scene from one of British cinema’s classic romantic films Brief Encounter. I’ll probably have to do that on a Thursday! (If you know, you know 😂)

Tonight's the night! And An Irish Goodbye star James Martin will be living his American dream at the Oscars - on his 31st birthday - no matter what happens, according to his dad.

The movie is nominated for best short film and goes into the 95th Academy Awards in Hollywood as the bookies’ favourite to win.

Dad Ivan Martin told Sunday Life: “I’ve been asked how he’ll cope if they don’t win, but he’ll be completely fine. He accepts that with everything that has happened, he’s a winner already."

James is the first person with Down syndrome to be nominated for an Academy Award, and Ivan said his son was very aware of the importance of his role as an ambassador.

“No matter what happens tonight, he has become one of the success stories of the Oscars."
