Hedon History Walks will have shocking stories for you on All Hallows Eve! Tales of ghost monks and cats, faceless bodies, poisons and cholera, guns and ropes, and death in many disguises.
If you like nightmares come along to Market Hill, Hedon, at 7pm Thusday 31st October for a 90 min stroll on the dark side. £5. Well behaved dogs are welcome too.

THE HEDON HALLOWEEN WALK IS BACK
Hedon History Walks presents 'An A, B, C of Hedon's Hideous History: Accidents, Bloodshed and Carnage'.

Meet on Market Hill 7pm on Thursday 31st October. £5. May not be suitable for young children. Well behaved dogs welcome. No tickets required, just come along.

The walk should be around 90 mins, and is on pavements and paths.

Just a Reminder! The postponed Head to Hedon event 'TIME and TIDE' by the brilliant Hull Community Theatre and the May Geslins is TOMORROW, Saturday 28th September at 2pm at St. Augustine's Church. This is an engaging mix of music and sketches with a local maritime theme and is free with no ticket required. It will have you laughing and crying in equal measure. This will be the final event of this years Heritage Open Days, organised in Hedon by Hedon Museum.

We are so pleased and proud to host The Beggars Folk Music Foundation's 'Sarah, Life Turned her that way', This Folk Opera tells the story of Sarah Kelly's abduction from home, rise to wealth in Dublin and subsequent downfall. It is told in a well polished and professional cast through the medium of music, (traditional and contemporary, along with dance and narration and even film. Where there is Brass.... is at St Augustine's tonight. The East Riding of Yorkshire Brass Band are performing in yet another FREE concert for HEAD TO HEDON. To raise the roof, not literally I hope, come along tonight at 7:30 for these fantastic musicians with the proper sound Yorkshire.

The weather seems to be set fair for a great HEAD TO HEDON weekend. Before that we have the fabulous East Riding of Yorkshire Brass Band at St. Augustine's Church at 19:30 to fill the church with the great sound of brass.
The programme for Saturday and Sunday is here. There are 7 open buildings, three history walks, Regency Dancers at Ivy House and Hull Community Theatre in the 'open air', classic lorries and cars and the Army Cadets at Lambert House. There is an exhibition of Hedon's WWII heroes with some fantastic tales at the British Legion. There also two more free shows at St. Augustine's too, ALL for FREE.

Let's put the COME in COMEDY in front of .... to St. Augustine's in Hedon, and get there on Thursday 12th at 8 pm for a great night out with four great comics in a magnificent venue for an evening of possibilities, and all for FREE as part of the HEAD TO HEDON events organised by Hedon Museum and with funding from East Riding's Do It For East Yorkshire and Hedon Town Council. Tomorrow, Wens. 11th, there is a Pub Walk in Hedon. More of a trawl than a crawl as we will be looking for stories about the many pubs and breweries from the past and present. We are meeting at The Station on Souttergate at 7pm. Part of the HEAD TO HEDON events organised by Hedon Museum.

Wednesday night is the next HEAD TO HEDON concert at St. Augustines. A fantastic night of local folk by local folk for local folk. The fantastic Spare Hands along with Sam Martyn and Wolfy O'Hare, plus Kevin Young, The Cod Ends and the May Geslins will make for a fantastic evening of music are repartee. And all for FREE!
The music starts at 7pm, not tickets required. Donations taken for renovation of St. Augustine's. This is the first time that such great folk musicians have been seen in Hedon for a very long time.

It is Here! HEAD TO HEDON for Heritage Open Days. We are off with a bang with free guided walks 'on water'. The Haven was the reason for the founding of Hedon and we follow its route and hear stories along the way. Meet at Johnsons Corner car park HU12 8HP /// servers.reseller.flipping at 11am or 2pm for approx 90 mins of Hedon history.

We are sorry to announce that Saturday's performance of 'Time and Tide' by Hull Community Theatre and the May Geslins has been postponed. This is as several of the troupe have COVID. The show has been rescheduled for Saturday 28th September at 2pm, still at St. Augustine's Church, Hedon.
However you will be able to have a preview as four scenes from the show are being performed on Sat/Sun 14th/15th September at various open air venues around Hedon.

Only 3 days to the start of HEAD TO HEDON for Heritage Open Days.
Saturday 7th September starts with a free 90 min walk discovering Hedon Haven starts at Johnson's Corner car park at 11am and 2pm
Also starting at 2pm is 'Time and Tide' by the excellent Hull Community Theatre group AT St. Augustine's Church.
7pm is the start of the Barbershop Concert by Award Winning Humber Harmony and Three Crown Sound. Most captivating song at the Interkulture Choir contest, Entertainment and Best small chorus awards at the British Barbershop Convention.
All for free. Please come along and support local events.

Hedon Museum is a charity run entirely by volunteers and has been open to the public for FREE since 1996. They are open between March and November on Wednesday's and Saturday's 10am to 4pm. For HEAD TO HEDON for Heritage Open Days they will be open Sat. 7th, Wens. 11th, Sat. 14th and Sunday 15th. There are displays of the history of the town. Did you know that Hedon was the 11th largest port in England in 1205? We also have a special exhibition by South Holderness Countryside Society 'A Best Kept Secret'. The Society hold land for wildlife and their display is fantastic in highlighting Holderness, especially for children. We have a book stall, tombola and shop with plenty of local history purchases, plus refreshments are available.
