We’ve spent all today in the garden doing a bit of reorganising and while it’s a work in progress it is now all coming together.

Our back gates came down in one of the storms at the end of last year - the whole thing, eight inch straining post as well! To be honest they’ve never been the best of gates - too heavy and the wind fairly did catch them and rattle them about.

We’ve decided we much prefer it without the gates. With the strainer post and side gate gone there is just sooo much more room to get your car in the back garden - in fact there is probably room for two now. So todays first job was to break up the old gates. Easier than it looked we soon had a car full of firewood.

While we’ve decided we’re not putting up replacement gates at the bottom of the garden we are going to put a little fence and gate at the bottom of the grass. This will give a little more privacy and make it more secure for folks with a young family. So today we sorted out the edging at the bottom of the plant boarder, giving a bit more parking space and making it straight ready for a fence when we can arrange it.

Always worth a stop on the way past. Lovely place for a wee wander and picnic 🧺
