Hayle Beach ⛱
The colour of the sand and sea all around St Ives Bay is simply stunning and there are literally miles of Golden sands to explore at low tide ❤

Temporary paradise 🌴🌞⛱️

As the tide gently floods the bay, wrapping its cold arms around the sandbanks with an inevitable embrace, small tidal islands form for but a few minutes

I like to seek these out and pretend I'm on a desert island with nothing but my bare wits . . . And drone controller

I ignore the abandoned building site behind me and the dog barking at me from the shoreline

All my troubles fade away for just a few moments, the tide lapping at my feet, all 11 degrees of sunshine hitting my neck, the slow rumble of indigestion building from that large mince pasty earlier in the day

Then I realise it's nearly school run time and I'm flaffing about on the beach when I should be on the A30 by scorrier by now

I can only dream of such permanence

St Ives Bay... it really is this colour 💕⛱🌞

Hayle River mouth

After realizing we were pretty much the only ones on the beach at one point I couldn't resist whipping the drone up and getting a huge panorama of St Ives bay using the river mouth as the main focal point (and me for scale)

Low tide on this beach can create the most awesome patterns in the sand and the color of the sea is just insane

Most non locals will never see it like this as it only really looks like this on a really calm sunny day, and we don't get too many of those apparently 🤣

as for the doggo . . . well I wasn't really looking at what he was doing whilst I took this and it turns out he was having a good clean of his bits . . . . AND DELETE

St Michael's Mount

who's been over and found the giant's heart then?

so I actually haven't been over onto the mount for about 30 years!

I do remember going into the castle though, I think we were on a primary school trip at the time. Everything was cordoned off and it looked very old. The teachers told us to listen for the giant's heartbeat when we were by the stone . . . we all claimed we could hear it, bet they thought we were right suckers 🤣

anyway, fast forward 30 years and I was down on a job in Marazion yesterday and couldn't help spinning the drone around 180 degrees and taking a quick snap of the mount

unfortunately I had to crop out a large portion of sea water as it looked like it was full of sewerage!

for those wondering: yes you need special permission from the heliport and you need to take off from private land, the drone regs have changed now and if you fly here without permission you'll find yourself in a fair bit of trouble

it's also very wise to respect the mount itself and not fly anywhere to close to it
