There are so many off-the-beaten-track beaches in this part of Cornwall, that it’s easy to have one all to yourself – even in half term week, which was exceptionally busy in Cornwall this year!
This is Rinsey Beach, beneath the imposing old tin mine Wheal Prosper. You reach it via a lovely walk across the cliff tops, and then it’s a bit of a scramble down to the beach, so you have to be reasonably able-bodied. We managed it, with two kids and four dogs in tow!

A beautiful December day in Cornwall. Took the dogs for a lovely walk along the coast path this morning, and down to an empty beach, not far from Little Trembraze. It was so warm we were shedding clothes as we walked - although not as many as the two hikers who overtook us on the way down, stripped off butt naked and bounded joyously into the clear blue sea. (If you peer very closely, you may just see them in the background!)

We're loving having guests to stay again, after lockdown. And it seems they're loving being free to roam round our wild beaches, cliff tops and countryside, too. They're also loving our little cottage. One of our first guests, Javi, presented us with this beautiful drawing of Little Trembraze, which he'd sketched during his stay.
We've still got a few nights available in the cottage in September, and through October.
Use the Book Now tab, above, or go to www.littletrembraze.co.uk for more info.

World gone mad (in a good way)! We now only have 5 nights available in the cottage in July (4-7 & 12-14) and 2 in August (6-8). Seems people are looking for quiet and secluded breaks in the UK after lockdown. And you can always find a beach with plenty of personal space down this end of Cornwall. (This is a photo of our 'secret' one in walking distance of the cottage!)
Still have availability for September and October, btw.
‘Book Now’ tab at top of Little Trembraze FaceBook page, or go to www.littletrembraze.co.uk for more info and to book via airbnb.

Cornwall, its land and its people, are looking forward to welcoming visitors back this summer. The Lizard peninsula, where we live, is absolutely stunning as a result of all the sunshine, the welcome recent rains - and possibly hardly anyone being around!

The countryside is super lush this year, with many of the wild flowers and plants nearly doubled in size and quantity. As a herbalist, you might expect me to notice this, but plenty of others have, too.

The sea - which you are never far from in our isolated little spot on the Lizard - is super clear, too. Actually, it always is, but there is an extraordinary abundance of sealife this year: huge fish, fat seals, shiny dolphins and a couple of deer! One young hind was found by a local fisherman swimming a mile offshore. And last week, my husband spotted one swimming serenely past his boat on the Helford river (see photo), near the mouth of the sea.

Deer are naturally strong swimmers, and so crossing a river doesn’t present any problem to them, but near the sea they may be swept out by strong currents/tides.

We have enjoyed lockdown, in terms of the many long walks along footpaths and bridleways, and the shore line, drinking in the emptiness and the seemingly increased cacophony of birdsong and wildlife sightings. Plus a few tractors - because farming has necessarily continued throughout all of this.

If you’re thinking of booking to come down for the summer, airbnb are now taking bookings from July 4th. You will be entitled to a full refund if, for any reason, you have to cancel and do so at least 14 days before your arrival date.

You will receive a very warm welcome.

Please go to our website, www.littletrembraze.co.uk, for availability and booking details. We use airbnb for our bookings.

Such a beautiful day today, down in our corner of Cornwall. Bertie (horse) and I went out for a ride round (and across) Poldhu Beach and Church Cove, alongside the SW coast path, then galloped back up the bridle path across the golf course. It was good to just get out and forget about all the scary stuff in the outside world.
If you fancy doing something similar (on foot - sorry I don't have a spare horse!), then why not come on down to Little Trembraze for a few days? Totally secluded!

This is the beautiful Kynance Cove (voted one of the best scenic beaches in the UK, in The Sunday Times travel guide), on the Lizard peninsula in Cornwall. It is just one of many stunning beaches and coves down our way. The South West coast path runs right around them – heaven for walkers, nature and wildlife lovers.
If you're thinking of booking a holiday, or short break, in our secluded little cottage here on the Lizard, please don't worry that you might lose your money due to coronavirus restrictions. If you are affected by this, we're happy to give a full refund (please let us know as soon as you know). Airbnb, who take our bookings, have agreed to refund their fees, as well.
Why not come and visit us, relax and explore?
See our website at www.littletrembraze.co.uk for more info and booking details.

Walking the dogs this morning along a hidden gem of a beach not far from Little Trembraze. One of our favourite beaches, as we tend to have it to ourselves for most of the year – and even during the summer few people find it!

Lowest price
Spring has sprung early in our idyllic little corner of Cornwall. Wildflowers are popping up much earlier than usual, trees are budding, and the temperature hasn't fallen enough this winter for the grass to stop growing!
The coastline is, of course, spectacular at any time of the year.
If you're thinking of taking a short break, our secluded character cottage is at its lowest booking price atm – £70/night for two people (til the end of March). Minimum stay 3 nights. It was built in 1840, but is warm and cosy with a log burner and enviro-friendly air source heating. Check out our reviews in the previous post.

We’ve had amazing 5***** reviews since we launched our little holiday cottage in June last year. People seem to be loving it just as much through the winter as the summer. Let’s see what this year brings!
Here are some of the reviews, working backwards:

DECEMBER
“Beautiful house in a secluded location. Lovely pubs and walks nearby, and a very friendly log fire. Perfect for when you want to get away from it all!”

NOVEMBER
“Absolutely fabulous location and a delightful cottage. Thoughtfully presented with everything you need for a break, long or short. Close to St Keverne for shops and pubs. We had a delightful stay, thanks to Deanne and John, in this cosy, comfortable and warm cottage. All our friends love the photos we posted. We hope to be back there as soon as possible!!”

OCTOBER
“Beautiful location, easy to find with clear directions from Deanne. Fire lit on arrival. This is a tiny but comfy and cosy cottage (not for the over 6 footers though!) Gunnera and banana palms right outside the bedroom window.... just loved watching the raindrops on the leaves. Wild flower planting.... so in touch with nature, especially as no WiFi or phone signal. Bliss! Everything we needed and very clean.”

SEPTEMBER
“We had a lovely holiday at this cosy little cottage in peaceful surroundings. Cottage was well equipped and spotlessly clean, with comfy furnishings. Great base for walking and nice log burner for cosy evenings. Near enough to a shop, and eating places, and owners were friendly and very helpful. Would recommend to anyone who wants a peaceful escape in good surroundings.”

“What a beautiful little place - we had a fantastic stay! The pictures tell the truth - this place is secluded but has everything you need inside. We aim to come back!”

“A beautiful, traditional Cornish cottage, which has been sympathetically restored. Everything was provided for a relaxing and comfortable stay. We loved the peace and tranquillity of the surroundings, especially in the secluded woodland garden, with so much wildlife and impressive plants to see. Thanks Deanne, we hope to return sometime.”

AUGUST
“You will not be disappointed if you book here! The cottage is like something out of a fairy tale, in the most idyllic tranquil setting and close to a great little village with all amenities you would need. The cottage had literally everything you needed with a good selection of games, DVDs and a good guide to the area. Not one single complaint and would highly recommend! Thanks for being great hosts.”

“Great cottage! Such a nice getaway from city life. Beautiful surroundings, tranquil setting. Great pub within walking distance (Three Tuns). Close to Kynance Cove, Mullion Cove and all the other locations I visited Cornwall to see. Deanne is fabulous. Super friendly and helpful. Cottage was thoughtfully renovated and full of character. All the amenities you need. Warm rooms, hot shower, clean etc. Highly recommended stay! Thank you.”

“A hidden gem! Four great days spent here. The property was extremely clean and had all the amenities required/advertised. The property is in a beautiful/peaceful area but just a short walk (15 minutes) to the village with great pubs, restaurant and shops for additional needs. We used the cottage as a base to explore the SW Coast Path on the Lizard peninsula. Deanne, the property owner, greeted us on our first day and was very helpful and friendly throughout our stay. We would recommend this property and hope to return again in the future.”

JULY
“A beautifully tranquil cottage for a complete 'get away from it all' holiday set in a great part of Cornwall...what more could you ask for!”

“It’s an absolutely amazing place to be if you’re looking for an environment in which to unwind and disconnect from a busy modern lifestyle. The location is simply beautiful, the renovation and decor stunning, with so much attention to detail. It makes a refreshing change to see how much care has been taken to create a truly wonderful holiday home. Deanne and John are lovely hosts, so friendly and very keen to help with any queries. Nearby to St Keverne - on foot or by car - which offers a village store and a couple of nice pubs with good menus. And of course great access to all the beauty that Cornwall has to offer. I would not hesitate to recommend this place and will definitely return in future!”

JUNE
“Deanne and John’s cottage is truly beautiful. Tucked away amidst the tropical plants and trees, we really felt as though we had stepped into a tropical rainforest. We were so happy relaxing in this beautiful place, drawing and reading in the garden with its amazing surroundings and silence - we only wish we had stayed longer! We spent two lovely days here - the location is perfect, just a short walk across the fields to St Keverne with two great pubs. We enjoyed the cottage so much we didn't feel the need to leave! but enjoyed exploring the coast and beautiful villages nearby on our bikes. You are really at one with nature here and if you are looking for a peaceful weekend away I cannot recommend it enough. Deanne and John were also wonderful hosts, so kind and friendly, and they made us feel right at home in this beautiful cottage. They helped us with directions on our way, gave us plenty of recommendations and were lovely to talk to. Thank you Deanne and John for everything, we hope to return soon!”

“Little hideaway! We had an amazing few days here. The property was spotless and had everything you'd ever need. The location was beautiful and very peaceful, just what we were looking for. Our hosts were lovely and helped out with some local recommendations. The little village has all you need with some great pubs and very friendly people. We used it as a base to explore the Lizard and cycling/walking around the area. Couldn't recommend this place enough if you like to have peace and beauty on your doorstep.”
