If you're walking on the Coast Path, keep an eye out for the gannets diving. It's worth waiting and watching for other activity. It's common for dolphins, porpoise and blue fin tuna to turn up to the feeding frenzy.

Have a look at this amazing video from August Rock Adventures based in Falmouth, Cornwall.

The Met Office has issued a Yellow weather warning across the South West for High Winds from 08:00 – 22:00 on Saturday 6 April. is the 11th named storm of the season with expected wind gusts of between 50-70mph. Posted • 👣 Path improvement update 👣

We are delighted that access to Churston Cove, a popular section of South West Coast Path along the Torbay coastline, has been improved. This work was achieved through a local 'Trails Partnership' with and and a substantial donation from to the Association's 'Step Up Appeal'.

The improvements consisted of 32 new steps, 6 replacement steps, 1 replacement 'ladder' stairway, drainage gulleys, expansion of the existing moulded concrete steps leading onto the beach, as well as an installation of a new handrail.

🤝 Thanks to trails partnerships, whereby local authorities, land owners and path managers work together, we are able to maintain and improve access to this world-class trail, delivering benefits to locals and visitors.

Posted • ⚠️ Amber weather alert ⚠️

The Met office has issued Amber weather warnings across the South West for tomorrow Thursday 2 November. Extremely high winds associated with Storm Ciarán could disrupt travel and cause structural damage.

On the Coast Path, large waves and beach material may be thrown onto sea fronts, coastal roads and properties. Exposed sections may have winds in excess of 85MPH. Activities on the Coast Path should be avoided until the Amber weather alert has passed.

If you are in a coastal area:
🚫 Plan your route, check for delays & road closures.
💨 Check forecasts and tides in your local area.
🌊 Beware of large waves.
🥾 Take care if walking near cliffs - know your route and keep dogs on a lead.

Piychodus

This large tooth came from an extinct shark known as Ptyshodys. These sharks were one of the biggest to live in the Cretaceous seas with an estimated length up to 10 meters! These sharks spent most of the time close to the seabed where they would feed on invertebrates with hard shells such as Bivalves, Brachiopods, Sea Urchins, Crustaceans and Ammonites. The shark’s jaws were lined with these teeth in both the upper and lower jaws to form a large crushing plate. This particular tooth is from the Chalk and is around 93 to 89 million years old.
