So where did we run into the King of Porthleven - the very handsome Reggie - last weekend??!! Do you recognise it?

My most asked question is “how far?” - How far is Penty Myghal to the harbour? How far away is the beach? How far are the restaurants?

As you can see when you click on the map ↙️ - the answer is not far at all! You can stroll all the way down one side of the harbour to see Dave & his bird in about 5 minutes or walk all the way around the harbour to the beach in less than 10 minutes ~ if you don’t stop on the way, of course, to check out restaurant menus, explore the ever changing market stalls, pop into the pub for a beer or collect a pasty or ice-cream on the way!

But the real beauty of Penty Myghal is that when you’ve had enough of the harbour’s hustle & bustle, or a day of sunshine on the beach or the wind & waves on a big storm day - you can return to Penty Myghal, which is peacefully tucked behind Wellmore House, & relax on the sunny patio or in front of the log burner in your own little oasis 🩵

It felt like a fresh bread kind of day - I love my second hand bread maker & it made me a lovely loaf this morning - now what shall I have - jam or a dippy egg?? 🍓🥚

If you like fresh bread in the morning, you can get some lovely fresh bread from the deli, the bakery & the supermarket in Porthleven - as well as fresh bagels from Ceds!

We don’t release dates for Penty Myghal in January - Porthleven is quieter as some of the shop owners & traders take a well earned break, it gives us chance to catch up on any maintenance required & ~ more importantly ~ means we can get a weekend away in our happy place!!

We are wishing the Head of Marketing a very happy 5th birthday today!

Always in work mode - he’s asked me to remind you that Penty Myghal is dog friendly, right on the South West Coast Path with miles of walks from the door - has an enclosed patio garden and wood burner for your four legged friend to enjoy.

We supply blankets, bowls, poo bags & treats and ask that you bring a throw or two if your pooch enjoys the sofa as much as he does 🐾 your pooch can also bring up to 4 hoomans with them to share their holiday.

If you don’t already follow JQ Photography - I would definitely recommend you to - his photography is very honest & often based around our Perfect Porthleven - as in this fabulous photo from yesterday 🌊

Probably one of my favorite shots from yesterday. I moved away from the pier when waves were coming over the wall and I slowed down the cameras shutter speed so I can catch the rays as the waves hits the pier. It's remarkable that some waves were larger than those during previous storms, highlighting the unpredictable nature of the weather. Plus I think black and white is quite ideal for this one. What do you guys think?
