If sea swimming isn't your thing then head to Cornwall’s celebrated Art Deco Sea water lido on Penzance’s Promenade (you can even cheat with a dip in the geo-thermally heated pool).⁠

🙏A PLEA TO POLITICIANS TO BAN HUNTING🙏
To be born a hunting dog in Greece (and in many parts of the world) is often a matter of bad luck. 😢The chances are that your owner will be a man (often of inferior intellect) who will regard you as a tool.🥲 If you turn out to be afraid of the gun the chances are that he will 'dump' you somewhere. If you are a 'good' hunter he may keep you in a cage or chained, letting you out on a Sunday when he goes to shoot one of the few hares or birds that are still surviving on our island (Andros).🥲 Sadly your owner is allowed by law to keep you in a cage that is deemed big enough, where you live a life of loneliness and frustration, especially during the summer when he is busy working.🥲 My plea to politicians is why are hunters allowed to continue killing the little wildlife we have left and secondly allowed to often treat these beautiful dogs cruelly. PLEASE POLITICIANS STOP THIS CRUEL AND SENSELESS SPORT ! 🙏

Shocking figures on the state of our food and farming industry.

43% of Cornish farms have closed since 2000. That's 150 a year.

At a time of looming food security issues we should be supporting our farmers and buying local. We should be helping the guardians of the land grow and sell more produce. We should be eating seasonaly and understand where the food we feed our family comes from.

Even if you can spend £5 on local produce from a company like ours who partner with hundreds of small producers, or direct from the producers themselves, it makes a big difference.

Explore Penzance this Summer! 😎
🌟Penzance has long been hailed as West Cornwall’s foodie rival to Padstow; it certainly has its share of fantastic restaurants, but it has so much more to offer. Possibly overlooked for its better-known rivals, St Ives and Falmouth, Penzance is really worth a visit if you are considering a trip to Cornwall this summer.

Penzance is a coastal town, with a promenade, great for a leisurely stroll on a sunny day, walk on to nearby Newlyn to explore the fish markets, galleries and grab Jelberts Icecream. 🍦Keep going and you reach the picturesque village of Mousehole, where you can explore the harbour and then relax with a glass of rose in the beautiful garden of the Old Coastguard; the bus stops just outside for the short trip back to Penzance.🚌

🏖️Pick up the coastal path from Penzance station stroll along Long Rock beach (a great dog friendly beach, good for swimming as the water is usually calm) to Marazion, where you can cross the causeway and explore the majestic St Michael’s Mount, used as a location in the fabulous House of Dragon series.🐉

🍸️In the evening, after a day’s exploration; there are some great bars and relaxed restaurants to choose from; 45 Queen Street, The Artists Residence or Ministry of Flavour are all favourites. You can also visit the distillery, Pocketful of Stones on Causeway Head for a tasting of all their local spirits.

From Penzance it is easy to explore further afield; jump on the train to St Ives or Truro; take the Scillonian for a day trip to the Scilly Isles or by car you will find fabulous beaches, such as Sennen and Porthcurno, or attractions such as the Minack Theatre are within a 30 minute drive. ❤️

You will find plenty to do in and around Penzance, it is the ideal base for a perfect summer break! Come and stay! 🏊️A coastal town, you can start your day with a refreshing dip, either from one of several town beaches, or visit the iconic Victorian open-air lido, The Jubilee Pool. Here you can warm up after your swim in the geo-thermal pool and then stop for a morning coffee in the café. Then have a wander through the historic streets, visiting a myriad of independent shops on Chapel Street and Causeway Head. ⁠
🧺There are plenty of lovely cafes to choose from for a lazy lunch; or pick up some lovely local treats from The Cornish Hen or 45 Queen Street and take your picnic to one of the town’s gardens. Morrab gardens is packed with exotic plants, shady walkways and a Victorian bandstand; or larger Penlee park with a quiet memorial garden, children’s playpark and wonderful art gallery (with lovely café). Catch a play at the open air theatre too!⁠

Lafrowda week is coming to St Just! ❤️⁠

This is what early September walks look like in these parts … it’s a pretty good way to start the day.

A visit to Rinsey beach for a change (always end up at Praa sands as it’s closer!) - reminded me how beautiful it is. Think the dogs approved of the choice! Dog friendly all year round, big rock pools for them to swim, the beach is best at low tide. It’s a bit of a scramble to get on the beach but well worth it!
