This disused railway station near Bromyard has been lovingly converted into a range of holiday lets which retain much of its era’s character.

Good to know: Each property is very different and train lovers will love their authenticity. Rowden Mill Station recently won a blue plaque at The National Railway Heritage Awards, for the National Highways Award for Restoration on a Closed Line, due to be unveiled at the premises this September.

Cwtch Cabins & Camping
For a Harry Potteresque experience that anyone young or old would love, these individually built cabins have lots of fantasy quirky touches. Set in a little ‘village’ environment on the Cwtch (Welsh for ‘cuddle’) site in Much Marcle, there is an outdoor yet covered kitchen with burners, if you can’t cope with your firepit or the weather turns, again, and a great communal shack with drinks, snacks, games and even breakfast if you want an easy start to the day.

Good to know: Kids can safely run free in the meadow environment with free range chickens, pond and woodland walks, but there are also local sites less than a mile away inc Hellens Manor and a little further is Westons Cider. The village with shop and pub are in between.

Next walking retreat 🥾

With only eight guests per retreat, you will have plenty of personal attention learning all the elements of Mindfulness Walking with academy founder Jo Dunne. There will be daily opportunities to put what you have learnt into practice on walks through the breathtaking Herefordshire countryside, from straightforward sessions to more challenging hikes. You will take in magnificent scenery, exploring ancient woodland, sections of Offa’s D**e and the 1,000 acres of farmland surrounding the property. Jo will be working alongside holistic practitioner and nutritious food enthusiast Sybil Watson. 
There will be plenty of opportunity for relaxation and time to reset and reflect in our spacious, beautifully appointed accommodation – with a chance to practise yoga, enjoy the hot tub and sauna or book a massage.

🌳 Another great spot to visit!



A really lovely heritage woodland park, encompassing an arboretum full of beautiful trees, especially now as the blossom starts to come out.

Around the you will find lots of pit stops, some with benches for a moment of peace and soaking up nature, and some with some audio features to discover some new facts.

You will also find a play area, cafe and gift shop. Look out for when they have events on too!

🌱 The Forge is a cosy little hideaway, all on one level, whilst not officially “accessible” it does offer easy living, with a shower room and very open plan living room/diner/kitchen all on or level, which all open out via three sets of patio doors onto a secluded little sun trap of a garden.

Perfect for a quick getaway or an extended stay in the county.

Our Christmas guests had some lovely things to say about their stay...

“Our family -infants.3 young adults,4 parents and 3 grandparents
-spent Christmas 2023 in The Colloquy.We had 6 days relaxing and enjoying each other’s company. The house was so warm and welcoming when we arrived and a hamper of goodies was very appreciated.it was also great to meet Mel and get extra information
The youngsters had plenty of scope to do their own thing-squash, table tennis, sauna and hot tub, and it was good that we could all meet together round the table in the discourse for meals. Cocking facilities were great and we wanted for nothing.
Attention to detail was obvious
- we had three lovely Christmas trees spread around and the 2 infants thoroughly enjoyed the gifts that were left for them.
Everyone appreciated that the bedrooms were so spacious with each having its own en-suite facilities.
We had a private chef to cook Christmas Dinner-serving canapes in the clock room first-and he was most impressed with the facilities in the lower full kitchen.
Communication from booking to arrival was faultiess and 1 would recommend White Heron Properties. without hesitation.”

We had a very professional team of decorators in this year, to make sure our festive feel was turned all the way up!

We still have two beautifully decorated cottages available for last minute Christmas or New Year breaks!
