Brisbane - the hottest ticket in town 🔥

It's been just over six weeks since tickets for the 2025/26 NRMA Insurance Ashes Series went on sale and The Gabba is proving just as popular as the iconic MCG and SCG.

The fact that England haven't won in Brisbane since Botham knocked 138 in the first innings in 1986 doesn't seem to be putting fans off. Instead, with rumours circulating that this may be the last Ashes Test at The Gabba, many are hoping to witness Ben Stokes and co. have the final say.

It's also a day/night test this time round, with the extra couple of hours in the morning for a leisurely brunch (or beer) tempting many. Likewise, the opportunity to explore Queensland, with fans flying into Cairns to visit the Great Barrier Reef before heading south, or into Brisbane itself then hiring a car to enjoy a few days by the beach in Noosa on the Sunshine Coast.

Fortune-seekers from all over the world came to Broome, Perth during its 'pearl rush' making it one of the most multicultural cities in Australia. The pristine waters here grow the Pinctada Maxima, also known as the silver-lipped pearl oyster which produces the world's largest and lustrous pearls.

Pretty impressive, right? Not sure we could have 6 of these as a starter! 🦪

📍 Champagne Pools, K'gari, Queensland

On K'gari's (Fraser Island) coastline, you'll find a collection of natural volcanic swimming pools known as Champagne Pools. As the waves hit the rocks at high tide, the pools fizz, hence the name 🫧

📍Elephant Rocks, William Bay National Park, Western Australia

Situated next to Green Pools in Denmark are huge rounded boulders known as Elephant Rocks due to their resemblance to the majestic animal. The clear turquoise water is protected from the Southern Ocean swell making it the perfect place for swimming and snorkelling. Or just enjoy the picture perfect view.

🛥️ Catch the ferry to paradise!

A scenic 1-hour journey from Airlie Beach (or a direct flight from Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane) and you’ll arrive at Hamilton Island, in the heart of Queensland’s stunning Whitsunday Islands.

Head to One Tree Hill Lookout to get your bearings, then kick back on the gorgeous Catseye Beach, or join a snorkelling trip to float above the colourful coral gardens of the Great Barrier Reef.

If you’re visiting between June and September, climb up to the viewpoint on Passage Peak, and you might just spot humpback whales rising and diving in the Coral Sea below.

📍Kakadu National Park, Northern Territory

Spanning over nearly 8,000 square miles, this UNESCO World Heritage site is made up of wetlands, waterfalls and rugged landscapes. Saltwater crocodiles, wallabies and hundreds of bird species call this place home, as well as a wealth of Aboriginal history.

The park contains some of the world's oldest rock art, with paintings dating back 20,000 years, offering an insight into the stories and traditions of the Bininj/Mungguy people.
