Interesting article about red squirrels in Northumberland, especially as we’ve had a sighting of a pine marten in Castle Cottage garden.

Grey squirrels are spreading to the north of England and wiping out the native red squirrels.

A bit of a soggy start this morning for the High Terrain Events at Kielder today for the 80k, 50k & 32k ultra running event.

For those not in the know it's an ultra running event based in the vast expanse of Kielder Forest - Forestry England covering 80k, 50k & 32k routes.
