And most of all, we've absolutely loved it. Hearing how much our guests have enjoyed themselves is exactly why we do what we do 🙂

A cosy Sunday in Otterburn
Just 5 minutes from Middles Cottage you’ll find the beautiful wedding venue of Le Petit Chateau and the restaurant William de Percy Inn & Crêperie.
If you want somewhere cosy for a Sunday roast, we couldn’t recommend this place enough ✨

Over the past couple of weeks, we have enjoyed making some changes to the interiors. We hope that our future and returning guests enjoy what we’ve done to the place.

We have many guests often travelling the whole length of the country to stay at Old Stables Cottage, Rothbury.
Our recent guests were travelling up from Cornwall and asked us what local shops, cafes and pubs were close by and within walking distance.
So we decided to walk the High St and point out some of our favourites 😊
Please Note: George's word of the day was clearly 'Tasty' 🤣
With the dark and stormy nights, what better way to spend them...
Whatever the weather, Northumberland always looks beautiful and our guests can snuggle up on the sofa, pour a glass of wine and light the woodburner 🔥
Tank Driving
When close family friends stay at one of our cottages and say "What fun family activity can we do today that both the kids and adults will love?".
Well...it didn't take us long to book an activity just 25 mins from Middles Cottage 😊
Our friends at Turboventure helped us organise an incredible experience...Tank driving!
And what a memorable day it was. Laughter, blue skies, first time experiences and driving a tank across the Northumberland countryside ☀️
As we always say, we don't just talk about all the amazing things to do in Northumberland, we regularly experience them ourselves too 😊
With parents visiting, we took them to the wonderful Kielder Water & Forest Park to explore the moss covered wood and watch birds flying over the biggest man made lake in Europe.

Another day of market research for our guests 😊
Today's adventures took us to Sweethope Loughs. It's comprised of two freshwater lakes almost 1 mile in length.
Guests are able to book a number of exciting activities with H2o Trails. This includes:
Wild Swimming
Dark Night Adventure Swims
Paddle Boarding
Sunrise Swims
Water Polo
Fly Fishing
And many more...
All this just a 5 minute drive from Middles Cottage.
Not only do our guests love exploring Northumberland...but so do we!
We like to experience as many of the things that we hear guests rave about (industry research 😉).
Hareshaw Linn is a spectacular waterfall walk and just a 10 minute drive from the cottage.
The ‘Linn’ is also home to red squirrels, great spotted woodpeckers, redstarts, dippers, badgers and Daubenton’s bats.
And of course...we couldn't finish without a trip to Tea on the Train Bellingham for some lovely food!
