Heavenfield Cottage is a beautifully renovated farm building conversion on our family farm in the heart of Hadrian’s Wall Country. The cottage sits very uniquely on top of Hadrian's Wall itself and offers luxury 5 star and award winning self catering accommodation for two. This working farm stocks over 1100 sheep and a herd

of 120 cattle and has been in our family for over 50 years. We love where we live and what we do and in 2017 we diversified to something new, to something that would enable us to welcome guests to our beautiful location. The old farm building was converted to a stunning self catering cottage and we are now delighted to be able to offer guests the opportunity to enjoy all that makes St Oswald's Farm special. There is history all around us, not only are we located on the Hadrian's Wall National Trail, we are adjacent to our very lovely 'Heavenfield' the old cattle site of the Battle of Heavenfield which took place in 633 and in which stands St Oswald's Church. Heavenfield is also a preserved hay meadow and the end point of the long distance walking route, St Oswald's Way. Not only are we immersed in history here, we have the most fantastic views and our central location means we are ideally positioned to enjoy day trips to the whole of Northumberland from Hadrian's Wall, to the Northumberland National Park, the Dark Skies and the fantastic Northumberland coast, the magnificent castles, charming gardens and the many amazing visitor attractions. We are happy for guests to explore our farm and will happily recommend walks and even provide a map of the farm showing the best vantage points. We will gladly answer any questions you might have about our farm, our animals and recommend day trips and places of interest if you're struggling to choose from the huge choice. Within the cottage itself many of the original features remain, with beams, exposed stonework, cobbles outside and with stones from Hadrian's Wall itself within the construction, Heavenfield Cottage is immersed in history and you can even boast that you've slept on top of Hadrian's Wall. A modern and well equipped kitchen ensures self-catering is a pleasure and we know you'll feel at home in this luxurious yet comfortable and cosy cottage. Underfloor heating and a log burner means you'll be toasty and warm and a drying cupboard ensures you can dry out those muddy boots from a day's walking. The cottage has been equipped to a high standard with lots of home comforts to ensure your stay is as comfortable and luxurious as possible. With so many new followers we thought it was a good time to re-introduce ourselves and say hello to those of you who don't know us yet.

We're John & Lorraine and we're the faces behind St Oswald's Farm where we live with our daughter Isla and our two collie dogs, Dot & Bea. John has lived here all his life and farms alongside our Son Grant who lives on our second and neighbouring farm with his wife Megan. You'll see John out and about on the farm every day and he's always happy to stop and chat and answer any questions you may have, whether that be about ideas for days out or if you have a question about the farm. Living on site means we're both always here should you need anything during your stay.

I'm Lorraine and I'm the one who looks after the cottage, the changeovers, the bookings, the welcome, the social media, the website and our newsletter and I have to say I truly love it. If I can help with any aspect of your booking or your stay I'm always happy to help.

We're in our 8th year of welcoming guests to St Oswald's Farm and we love that our guests enjoy coming here and sharing our gorgeous little piece of Northumberland and we get to meet the very nicest of people.
