Lovely visit to Bamburgh Castle to see the Christmas through time exhibition, which was fabulous. Created by the same person who does the decorations at Castle Howard, it was spectacular and well worth a visit

The Hytte offers award-winning self-catering accommodation in Bingfield near Hexham. Inspired by Norwegian design, this luxurious timber lodge with a grass roof is an ideal base for exploring Northumberland's attractions. The fully equipped kitchen/dining area includes modern appliances and seats up to eight. The lounge features vaulted ceilings, wooden floors and a Norwegian log burner. Four well-furnished bedrooms are available, along with a shower room and family bathroom. Guests can enjoy a sauna, hot tub, trampoline and more in the enclosed garden.
