Watersedge is a beautiful cottage over looking Hickling Broad, in Norfolk. The cottage sleeps 7 to 8 people it has 4 bedrooms 2 bathrooms 3 staircases! You can enjoy the views 365 days of the year. Summer is gorgeous sitting in the garden watching people sail or enjoy the wonderful bird and butterfly life that is all around you including the rare Swallowtail Butterfly. ng. In Winter you can keep cosy and warm and still enjoy the view over the broad, and watch the birds or fish, walk on the beach or sail and canoe if you are of hardy stock! This place is just a wonderful Get-Away, for a long week end or a week it's a must to visit.

Just arrived for a weeks break. Our d**e is currently blocked by a floating island that was blown here in the last gale. The floating island is known as a “hover”. None of the boats in the boathouses are able to get out. The authorities are hoping to tow it elsewhere, but could be a while as a pair of swans has started to nest.

We’ve also got a male Bittern booming away in the reeds nearby, first time I’ve heard one from the house. Only previously heard them down on the reserve.

We've been busy at Watersedge and added an en-suite bathroom. You now have the use of three bathrooms and a separate toilet. Perfect for large family groups.

Lovely evening walk after the storm has passed. Lots of wildlife about, in fifteen minutes I saw kingfishers, marsh harriers, hares, herons and deer.

There’s plenty of water in Hickling Broad at the moment. Levels are the highest we’ve seen, you can almost paddle out of the public staithe onto the road. Rest assured that Watersedge is dry and snug. Short breaks available, check the website.
