Up until now my business has been based in Bristol where I've enjoyed a large and lovely client base, as well as working with many other clients from around the country who travelled to me in Bristol. Now I have relocated to the Peak District and am continuing my work there. I will be working from there mainly but may be mobile within a certain radius during quieter times. If coming by train the nearest station to me is New Mills 2 miles away, and I can collect you from the station if necessary. It's in a gorgeous national park so well worth a visit in its own right - perfect place for a day out or mini-break! I'm a professional loctician, offering a more affordable alternative to salons, specialising in creative hairdressing. I do not use any glues or other harmful products which damage hair, my methods are all natural and I am a perfectionist when it comes to my clients hair! I like to take a creative approach and try new ideas that have not been done before. Dreadlocks are tightened up straight away, without the use of any chemical products. Very short hair can also be dreaded with the addition of synthetic or human hair to add length. Existing dreads can be tidyed up/rescued from whatever state they are in, no job is too much of a challange! I can also 'pad out' some dreads that are thinning in places and look like they might snap. I can even re-attach old dreads that have either come off or been removed! If you're looking for wool dreads I am also the right person to come to, as I also offer temporary dreads made of out wool or synthetic, or yarn, or whatever you fancy! I have a degree is textile design and so am always looking for new and creative ideas to put yer 'ed a step ahead of the norm! I can do them in full heads or just a few, with installation or by post so you can attach them to your own dreads. FYI, I will be having a much needed break after some gruelling work getting my counselling qualification alongside running this business! Not to worry, I'm going to carry on doing hair alongside a new counselling business from September and availability shouldn't be affected too much at this point.

New dreads with extensions for Michelle. She had a previous set made by me which unfortunately was ruined by bleach. Michelle plans to be more gentle with her dyeing routine with this set and only get it dyed professionally. This is generally the safest option with locks which can get very brittle and snap off with peroxide

FOR SALE I rarely do this but in celebration of Halloween I have a ready to go set for sale!! It features darks browns going into bright Halloween shades or orange, purples and limes, and a bone white shade. It also has cute spooky charms including buttons, months, eyeballs, cobwebs and potion bottle. Also I wanted to test out some new UV reactive dyes.

Back in May my client came to me suffering with hugely matted hair which had happened as a result of having no access to hairdressers over lockdown, her hair is extremely long and thick and very difficult to maintain without assistance. Since then it had got out of control and my client did not know how to resolve the situation. I rarely shy away from a challenge but this was daunting and I knew it would be a big job. We did it in monthly sessions due to my client's time limitations although this meant that often the matting would re-form in between sessions. Eventually we teased all the knots out and my client plans to have it styled ready for her wedding in October 🍾 Overwhelm happens to all of us and sometimes with life, neurodiversity, stress, grief, physical or mental health issues things can get out of control, especially with difficult to manage hair. Seeing the state of my house a lot of the time you will understand I am a judgement free zone when it comes to things like this.
