Back in May my client came to me suffering with hugely matted hair which had happened as a result of having no access to hairdressers over lockdown, her hair is extremely long and thick and very difficult to maintain without assistance. Since then it had got out of control and my client did not know how to resolve the situation.
I rarely shy away from a challenge but this was daunting and I knew it would be a big job. We did it in monthly sessions due to my client's time limitations although this meant that often the matting would re-form in between sessions.
Eventually we teased all the knots out and my client plans to have it styled ready for her wedding in October 🍾
Overwhelm happens to all of us and sometimes with life, neurodiversity, stress, grief, physical or mental health issues things can get out of control, especially with difficult to manage hair. Seeing the state of my house a lot of the time you will understand I am a judgement free zone when it comes to things like this. I also love a good de-matting job so don't hesitate to get in touch if you need a hand!
