A successful end to our Christmas and New Year season. We have welcomed guests from Singapore, Australia, South Africa and the USA who have had quality time with their respective UK-based families. It has been a home from home experience for most with freshly cut Christmas trees and decorations providing the seasonal feel - and let's not forget our woodburners!

It's been a while since my last post - but we've thankfully been busy! The Barn is now receiving many return guests and The Cowshed is going from strength to strength. The really nice thing is that for guests who have stayed in both they are largely undecided which is the more preferable! There is still some availability this summer, particularly for The Cowshed, so feel free to drop me a message on Facebook for a 10% discount on the marketed rate. Whilst I am here, another local recommendation is for those horseriders amongst you. Amelie (my daughter) and I went horseriding last week in the lovely Mendip hills at https://www.tynings-trekking.co.uk/

Very proud to announce the opening of The Cowshed. It's just like The Barn in that it's built and furnished to a really high spec that should delight our guests. There are 3 double rooms, with a superking, king and double beds - and 2 wet rooms. The kitchen is to die for within an open plan living space that has a lovely corner sofa and beautiful oak dining table. And of course there is a woodburner and hot tub for your extra comfort. The beautiful Avalon Marshes just 20 minutes drive away from Nightingale Barn. Great for nature lovers, particularly bird watchers. Famous for spectacular starling murmurations. Late availability 3-13 May!

We now have Nightingale Stables in development, just round the corner from Nightingale Barn. This holiday let will follow the same high end formula, with 3 x large double rooms, 2 shower rooms (wet rooms), open plan kitchen/dining/living area, woodburner and hot tub. It will be gorgeous and has a completion date of mid-May. We are happy to take advance bookings from June onwards!

Well the Christmas week was reserved quickly after a cancellation (see last post) and now we have had a similar cancellation for the New Year due to the Rule of 6 (COVID precaution for anyone reading this not from the UK). Any takers for the week 27 Dec - 3 Jan?!

It's been a hugely busy time since the relaxation of COVID restrictions in July but still much uncertainty. We have taken a number of COVID precautions that have caused minimal disruption to our guests whilst retaining their safety as much as reasonably possible. Guests continue to thoroughly enjoy their stays with us at Nightingale Barn. The "rule of 6" has meant a cancellation on a popular week, the week 17-24 October. Please drop me a message soonest if you are interested in reserving that week.

Don't forget to visit the murmurations at Shapwick Heath, 15 minutes drive away on the lovely Somerset Levels. If you catch it right it's a sight you won't forget in a hurry!
