Throwback Thursday: Week 2 on the farm (16 February 2023)

Looking back to our early days on the farm, it’s hard to forget week two. The boys were getting the hang of their new “toys,” including the ride-on lawnmower, which quickly became a necessity for managing the acres upon acres of grass. 🫣

It wasn’t an easy day, just working out how that thing worked, realising we would also need a ‘proper’ strimmer (meaning Craig got to buy another new toy) and push lawnmower to cut so much grass was something we were completely unprepared for! Even Teddy, our lovable Labrador, was completely exhausted by the end of it. From chasing after the mower to swimming in the river, he was as much a part of the process as the boys.

It was a wake up call realising how tough and time consuming looking after this place was going to be, but it was also rewarding and a little bit fun!

What do your kids love to help with around the garden or home? Charlie couldn’t wait to try the ride-on lawnmower!

I thought I would start something new and start showing some never seen before footage!

Throwing it back to that unforgettable first day on the farm! 🐖✨ (Thursday 9th February 2023) Craig, the kids and I were diving into the deep end, figuring out how to feed our very first pig. I still remember how new and nerve-wracking it all was—between worrying if we might get eaten and being absolutely convinced Taylor was going to make a break for it!

Looking back, I can’t help but laugh at how unprepared we felt, but also how much joy and growth that moment brought us.
