Holkham beach is stunning any time of year. If you are interested in the history of Holkham itself the BBC are featuring Holkham in their program Villages by the Sea tonight at 7 pm on BBC2.

The beautiful lifeboat Horse who spends the summer months each year embracing the tides will be symbolising a War Horse for a couple of weeks before going off for the winter. There are 109 poppies displayed for the remembrance commemorations recognising the names found on the Wells-next-the-Sea remembrance memorial.

For anyone staying in Kelling Heath from 21st July - 1st September. Here are the Village Square opening times
Pls note that the Terrace restaurant is closed for food Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday each week, however there are other options to consider with the cafe open until 3pm, pizzas every evening in the hut 4.30 to 9pm and food pop ups from 5pm every evening too.

The village shop has some lovely frozen meals we like to take back to the lodge and pop in the oven sometimes. With a glass on the deck watching the sun go down. When we want a break from the busy village square, which also offers entertainment throughout the year on various evenings. Check out info when you’re there for what’s on. 😀

This weekend sees the North Norfolk Rails and Ales event take place along the north Norfolk railway between Holt and Sheringham (Kelling Heath has a wave down platform) 9th-11th June.
Around 25 local ales and ciders alongside two stream trains and a collection of diesel trains. Weybourne station will host live music and a real ale and cider bar 11am - 6pm with a selection also being served at Sheringham and Holt stations. Buffet and refreshments also being serviced on selected trains.

For train enthusiasts check out the for information on steam trains and special guest trains showing an appearance.
