A much brighter day today after storm Darragh yesterday, although still a very cold and windy walk this morning.

We have been lucky and not had any damage to the cottages but our field shelter in the bottom field has done a somersault!! Toby didn't quite know what to make of it when we put him out this morning 🤣🐎

"Not your average Saturday morning! 🦉

Friday night we were relaxing in the lounge when we heard an unexpected commotion coming from the chimney. Something was definitely stuck in the flue - and Father Christmas isn't due yet!!

Rustling sounds and glimpses of talons had us convinced it was an owl.

With it being so late at night and no one available to help we decided to get up early the following day to try and rescue our feathery visitor. It wasn't easy, but just look at this little cutie we found! 🥺🦉

We were worried he might be hurt, but it looks like he was just in shock. Moments after taking him outside, he spread his wings and took off into the sky.
We hope he's okay out there.
Thank goodness the fire wasn't alight and that we were in the room when he took his detour!
