Anderby Creek, part of the wonderful Lincolnshire coastal country park

The last spot on our whistle stop tour of the Lincolnshire Coast is the beautiful Anderby Creek โ˜๏ธ

Named as one of the UK's best beaches by The Times, this long stretch of sand is perfect for walking, birdwatching - and cloud spotting!

Anderby is home to the worldโ€™s first purpose-built cloud-spotting platform. Created by artist Michael Trainor, The Cloud Bar offers a 360-degree panorama of the sky.

With identification menus, mirrors to reflect the sky and special viewing seats, this hidden gem allows you to appreciate and identify the clouds in Lincolnshire's often dramatic skies.

Dog friendly beach and cafe

This week, we're taking a closer look at the Lincolnshire Coast. With half-term on the horizon, what could be better than a trip to the seaside? โš“๏ธ

Our tour of the coast begins with a trip to Chapel St Leonards. Stretching for miles, the beautiful beach here is the perfect place for kids to burn off some energy; you can run, walk, cycle - even horse ride - along the golden sand.

After exploring the expansive shoreline, head to the North Sea Observatory and you can warm up with a hot chocolate - and enjoy the view from the comfort of the cafe!

In cooler temperatures, Barn Owls are able to adapt their hunting style to stay warm. Rather than gliding through the air, some prefer to hunt from posts and perches, conserving precious body heat and energy ๐Ÿฅฐ

Our Story

We converted a derelict unloved abandoned crew yard, into modern award-winning 4 star Gold, luxury self catering accommodation, which nestles in over 4 acres of tranquil private grounds, in the heart of the beautiful and verdant Lincolnshire Wolds. Greetham Retreat now offers a selection of flexible, top quality holiday accommodation and has two lovely ground floor cottages, plus an intimate loft apartment all with 1 bedroom, for couples or solo travellers. We also offer a more spacious 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom cottage to suit families or groups of up to 4 people. Greetham Retreat is open all year round.

As owners, Jeanette and Rob Folwell personally meet and greet all guests and also carry out all aspects of running their holiday let business and only live about 100 metres away. They have also created an exclusive, Caravan and Motorhome Club, touring caravan site with just 5 pitches.

The private grounds at Greetham Retreat extend over 4 acreas with areas of woodland, wildlflower meadows, wildlife ponds all for guests to use and explore, offering panoramic views across the stunning surrounding countyside of the Lincolnshire Wolds.

Pets are welcome in most of our cottages and free Wi-fi is available for all guests. We look forward to welcoming you to stay here at Greetham Retreat which is in our view, the perfect place to stay if looking to relax and unwind or just wanting to explore eveything that Lincolnshire has to offer.
