Hello from Sunny St Kitts.
I've recently embarked on a 2 week Caribbean cruise aboard P&O Cruises . I know I have a few customers ready to follow in my footsteps, so I thought I would talk you through your first day and what to expect.
When you check in at the airport, you produce your passport and boarding pass that we have printed for you. Once your bag is on the conveyor belt you do not see it until you get to your cabin. I would recommend packing something in your hand luggage for your first night as it can take up to 3 hours for them to arrive.
When you get off the plane, there will be buses at the bottom of the steps, which will take you straight to the port.
When you arrive at the port, you will produce your boarding pass, and they will take your photo. It may be worth freshening up on the aircraft as the just woke up after a flight look is scary to see each time you embark or disembark. That could just be me!
When you get to your cabin, your door keys will be in the little pocket next to your door. There will also be instructions on the my holiday planner app. This is great for making dinner reservations and checking your onboard spend. You will receive one hour free wifi to do this and then you need to keep connected to this for the app to work. Unfortunately that is the only thing that will work without buying an Internet package.
Every evening, you will have the Horizon leaflet left outside your cabin. This tells you everything that will happen the next day.
