We are so proud to announce our first Home Ed Coasteering adventure is on the 15th July on our Croyde Bay route - 0930 start time. If your young person would like to join us, please get in touch 🧭🥾⛰️🤸🤸‍♀️🐬🌊

This is why we cap public sessions to 6ppl maximum, split our Croyde and Hele Bay routes so you can choose the challenge that suites you annnnd............
If that wasn't enough, group bookings of 6ppl and over get the session all to yourselves!

North Devon Coasteering also holds a RLSS beach lifeguard award, AALA license, public liability insurance, ISA surf coach and British canoeing Paddle Sport leader. Yes this means we are water babies but it also means you are in very safe and experienced hands

I guess it's that time...... The awkward talk about yourself moment 🫣😆, so here goes........

🤙 I'm Simon Hope, owner and operator of North Devon Coasteering. My biggest reason for starting my own specialist coasteering company, is so I can help others enjoy the beautiful outdoors, whilst supporting them with mental and physical well-being!
I have a strong background in the outdoors, having grown up in Dorset along the Jurassic coast, jumping off everything.
I then met my lovely partner and we went off to live in New Zealand for a little while!! I was so fortunate to get a job with as a cave guide and spent an epic couple of seasons here

🤙 When we returned to the UK, We moved down to North Devon and I coached surfing for 5 years before finding coasteering and falling in love! Spending the next 6 years freelancing for local companies and learning my craft, as well as an in depth knowledge of both Hele Bay and Croyde Bay routes, I have finally decided to get out there on my own and here is why.......... 🥳

🤙 I love coasteering and the North Devon Coastline! I believe it should be accessible to everyone, which is why I keep the public sessions small, so we ALL get to enjoy the session that WE want. NDC will be putting some new type of Adventures out there in the near future, not yet seen in North Devon. So watch his space.

🤙 A huge focus for NDC moving forward will be the mental and physical well being of others, I'm not 100% sure what the future holds with this but I'm so excited & grateful to be already working with great people like and look forward to giving back to others
Coasteering can do so much for our mental & physical states, combining the jumping, the healing power of being in the ocean and the energy of the rocks that are 400 million years old, is quite special 😌🙏

Introducing our Hele Bay route. 💥 ⛰️🤸🌊👍🐬

Located in ilfracombe, Hele Bay is a real hidden gem of the North Devon coastline. We start off in the Bay itself, then head in the direction of Ilfracombe harbour. Towards the middle of the session, we get to see a view of Ilfracombe harbour and Hele Bay that is only accessible via the water, with a view of the famous Verity statue! it is not to be missed 🌄🗽🏞️

Our Hele Bay Coasteering is definitely the next step up from our Croyde Bay route, so expect, bigger jumps, harder scrambles (mostly slate rock) and more ocean movement as we are closer and more exposed to the bristol channel (2nd biggest tidal range in the world). This makes our washing machines and gully crossing super fun 🏊‍♀️🐬🌊🤙!!

As with all our adventures we keep a balance between adrenaline, fun, safety and exploration. Whilst always respecting the areas of outstanding natural beauty, we are privileged to share with you ❤️🙏!
Hele Bay can be explored to it's fullest, with our 3.5 hr coasteering session (conditions dependant)

Introducing our Croyde Bay route 🤙💥⛰️🤸🌊

One of the UK's most famous surfing spots but just a little way along the coast path walk, we drop down into an old fisherman's harbour to start our Croyde Bay Coasteering adventure.
As you can see from the photos we have posted, Croyde offers a good variety for a mixed group or people's first time coasteering experience. We can explore caves, gully's, jumps and old Victorian bathing pools along the way.
A lot less swimming than our Hele route and smaller jumps (still some 5-8m high!!) , a lot more options for everyone to enjoy your session!
It can also be taken to the next level with our 3.5 hr coasteering adventure 🤙 🧭🥾🐬🌊🤙

Washing Machine time 🤙 🌊🧼🧽🤸🤸‍♂️💥🤙 We all love jumping off big rocks into the ocean but by far everyone's favourite memories of coasteering with us, is time spent experiencing how your clothes feel on the spin cycle! Both Croyde & Hele Bay have unique washing machines. Croyde Bay has more gullies and can be explored on bigger swells. The swell gets funneled through the gullies creating a flush through washing machine experience ☺️ Hele Bay undoubtedly has the bigger jumps and its washing machine doesn't disappoint either! Due to the formation of the geology at Hele, it creates a slab that the swell hits into and drops away from. Leaving you with a feeling not unlike a roller coaster If you love this sort of experience, message us directly so we can plan the right session for you and your spin cycle experience!
