Which is the best trip for children?
For children undoubtedly our Seals & Lighthouse cruise has proved the most thrilling.
There are a colony of seals located on the coast to the west. Seeing the seals is a thrilling experience for any child. The coastline to the west is also spectacular.
The nesting birds and Exmoor coastline is however more spectacular and because of the nature of the coastline we can get very close into the coastline.

Heading West out of the harbour we pass the famous Tunnels Beaches, Lee Village and on to Bull Point Lighthouse originally constructed in 1879. There is an increasing number of Atlantic Grey Seals just past Rockham Beach – this is where we regularly have sightings. Our vessel has a fantastic viewing deck for these occasions.
Once we pass the seals, we move on to Morte Point which has many tales to be told of smugglers and shipwrecks. We then journey onto Woolacombe Bay – here we have fantastic views of Baggy Point, Hartland point and Lundy Island before returning to Ilfracombe.
This cruise passes the famous Tunnels Beaches, Lee Village and on to Bull Point Lighthouse. See Atlantic Grey Seals on Rockham Beach!

We have sad news, & some better news.
The sad news is that, in keeping with this summer, the weather has scuppered our plans to go singing at sea on the Ilfracombe Princess this Saturday.
We’re gutted as doing that last year was an absolute highlight of our gigging career - fingers crossed we can do it again next year.
HOWEVER!
To cheer ourselves up we’ve managed to get booked last minute to play at The Ebberley Arms in Barnstaple, a pub we haven’t played in for far too long. So there is a silver lining in the grey clouds!
The Exmoor cliffs cruise is one of our most spectacular cruises – with the dramatic views of some of the highest cliffs in England – impressive headlands of the Exmoor National Park. Great Hangman just outside Combe Martin stands at 1043ft.
Exmoor is also home to many nesting birds – so why not bring your binoculars! As this trip is also the East we also encounter all the treats of the Smugglers Caves trip including the famous Silver mines and Watermouth Castle.

Our last Broadsands Live Music Session of the year is not far away!
On Saturday 24th August we will be joined by Bicycle Repair Man - a fantastic band to end our sesssions with.
From Metallica to Mumford and Steve Earle to the Stereophics, no one is safe from their quirky folk style of covers. Throw some original and traditional songs into the mix and you’ve got a Bicycle Repair Man set.
James and Matthew combine close vocal harmonies with mandolin melodies, rhythmic guitar work and intricate tenor riffs in an attempt to deliver a two man wall of sound.
The perfect way to end our live music sessions and we hope you will join us.

Costal & Wildlife cruises from Ilfracombe harbour in North Devon. The Ilfracombe Princess is a large purpose built catamaran licenced for 100 passengers. We offer 3 main trips taking in the smugglers caves and Exmoor coastline to the East and the seals and lighthouse trip to the west. During the season we see regular sightings of porpoises, dolphins, sunfish and seals as well as the abundance of birdlife. Trips are suitable for all ages and we have plenty of seating, both covered and open, as well as an onboard toilet.
Join us for a cruise and take in the breathtaking sights of the coastline which lies in an area onf outstanding natural beauty whilst your captain provides commentary on the sights and wildlife along the way. Trips start at £12pp for an adult and £6pp for a child. Kids under 5 go free.
