Coastal Path Cottage sits on the dramatic North Devon coast within Exmoor National Park, with panoramic sea views and overlooking the South West Coast Path. The cottage is detached with private parking outside the front door and a fully enclosed and private garden of more than 1/4 acre. The accommodation comprises triple aspect lounge with 2 sofas and dining table and 4 chairs. There is a 47" flat

screen TV with full Sky package and separate DVD player. The lounge leads out to a south facing conservatory with sofa and two chairs. The kitchen is fully equipped with electric hob and microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and 60/40 fridge freezer. The main bedroom has super king size bed and patio sliding doors leading directly to the garden. There is a TV with built in DVD. The 2nd bedroom has 2 single beds and built in wardrobes, The bathroom has 1200mm walk in shower with dual shower options. There is a separate bath with handheld shower attachment. The conservatory leads out to the inner garden which has dining table and 4 chairs, sunlounger terrace and a breakfast terrace. This leads out to the outer garden which has a 3m x 4m open log cabin with day bed, woodburning stove and dining table and 4 chairs. The property is very dog friendly with 2/3 dogs welcome and no restrictions on where they go. Dog throws/towels/bowls and poo bags are provided. In the garage there is a second fridge freezer and tumble drier. There are direct walks in every direction along the coastal path or across the moorland and yet it is a 5 minute drive to all facilities in Combe Martin and a 20 minute drive to award winning Woolacombe Beach.

Today we remember those who fought so bravely for our freedom in 1944. We often visit the landing craft at Braunton Burrows which were used to train the troops in preparation for this historic day. They are a quiet memorial to those men and it is a moving place to reflect on their courage and strength.

As we commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day, we remember the significant part played by North Devon in preparing for the invasion. American troops were stationed between Northam Burrows and Woolacombe, since the coastline closely resembled the Normandy beaches, making it the perfect place to train for the beach invasions. Baggy Point was used to practice cliff assaults and Ilfracombe received many refugees fleeing occupied Europe.

You can still find signs of the US activity including the remains of concrete 'landing craft' used to practice for their mission, and bullet-ridden blast walls.

Have you ever been to Hele Bay Beach ? You probably drive along the coast road through Hele Bay on your way to Tescos in Ilfracombe and see the signpost with the little sandcastle but have never turned right. Right? If you did you would find a dramatic dog friendly beach best visited when the tide is out to get the best view of the coastline which your dogs will love. There is also a generous car park and cafe. It is very popular with cold water swimming if you want to take your cossie. Add it to your list 😁

Last week we welcomed this stunning boy Zoltan to Coastal Path Cottage for the first time. He enjoyed the huge garden and walks at Heddon Valley Arlington Court - National Trust Combe Martin and runs along the beautiful local dog friendly beaches. His parents Leona and William loved it too and they are now on the cancellation waiting list for a return visit this year!

We love a southern storm bringing very warm air across Exmoor and no rain all day. OK so we could hardly stand up as the wind was so strong but as changeover days go it was beautiful 😍

Our Story

Coastal Path Cottage sits on the dramatic North Devon coast within Exmoor National Park, with stunning sea views and very dog friendly. Sleeps 4. The large 1/4 acre enclosed and private garden has direct access to the SW Coast Path and various seating areas with chimnea and BBQ area. The cottage is very bright and spacious with triple aspect lounge with amazing sea views from the full length windows leading to South facing conservatory and into the garden. The large master bedroom has super king bed with memory foam topper and sliding doors leading to the garden. The modern bathroom has large 1.2 m walk in shower with twin shower head as well as separate bath with shower attachment. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, large fridge freezer and there is a tumble dryer in the garage. The second bedroom has 2 single beds. The cottage has 2 TVs, one with full Sky package, the other with built in DVD and free superfast broadband is included.

2 dogs are welcome maybe 3 on request
