There's still time to sneak in a trip to Cosaig before the end of the year. We have from the 27th November to the 8th December available. Innerleithen's Christmas Light Switch-On is on Saturday 7th December and is always a lovely day in the town.

Autumn is a great time to visit the Tweed Valley Forest Park. These are from our morning walk yesterday at Thornielee Forest. Oscar recommends it for a great choice of sticks...Max doesn't 😂

Nestled in the Southern Uplands, not far from Tweedsmuir lies Talla Reservoir. It's a beautiful place to enjoy the great outdoors, from hiking to biking, birdwatching to fishing.

Activity Destination #3: INNERLEITHEN

This former mill town has reinvented itself in recent years as a hub for outdoorsy types.

Bounded on both sides by dramatic hills and forests, this vibrant town is a magnet for hikers and bikers – plus a hopeful angler or two!

🥾 Whether your walking wish-list is mild or wild, Innerleithen has it all. An easy stroll through Toll Wood to the Tweed and back; a punchy climb through Caberston Forest to visit the Pirn Hill sculptures (pictured); or a there-and-back pilgrimage to the summit of Lee Pen.

🚴‍♂️ Innerleithen has a fearsome reputation for downhill mountain biking. But there’s a more gentle side to cycling here too. Discover Walkerburn or the magical Glen Estate and Loch Eddy in our 10 Classic Bike Routes guide.

🎣 One of the most celebrated rivers in Scotland, the Tweed produces more fish caught to the fly than anywhere else in Britain. The two miles of fishing available at Traquair are particularly beautiful, with a local guide available if needed.

Oscar: a day in the life 🙄

Not long now until St. Ronan's Border Games, a highlight of the year in Innerleithen. Oscar is wondering if the Pipe Band might welcome him 🤔 He has been practicing twirling his baton. We are booked up for the Games but just for information here are the last remaining dates available this year: 16th-18th September -NOW BOOKED 10th-14th October 28th October- 2nd November 7-11th November 15th-20th November 24th November onwards (including Christmas and Hogmanay)

Ah, getting a wee bit nostalgic looking at this video from 5 years ago. Our old boy Lukey is sadly no longer with us but seeing photos of him always brings a smile. As for the cottage, we have more comfy sofas but apart from that not much else has changed! We have Friday 21st - Monday 24th April available if you would like to see for yourselves....

Oscar celebrated his second Gotcha Day playing "catch me if you can " by the Tweed with two of his best buddies. Max meanwhile stayed curled up on the sofa . One lot of zoomies this morning was enough for him 😂

Oscar says that we have missed mentioning a huge selling point for Cosaig. He said we should tell the dogs in Facebook world about the superb sticks up for grabs in the nearby woods. Do we have any other stick obsessed hounds out there? 🙄
