A first time visit for us today. The Ettrick Marshes are around half an hour from Innerleithen. What a fabulous spot...and perfect if bird watching π¦ is your thing.
Innerleithen based artist Hatch, Burn, Carve created the beautiful slate carved Luna, Moongazing Hound in Cosaig's garden. He recently exhibited at the Trimontium Museum in Melrose and we were lucky enough to see "Lepus Alba" for ourselves. It is stunning and would look wonderful in any setting (including my house if any of my family are reading this π)
Last few hours to buy raffle tickets to win a stay at Cosaig. The raffle is being organised by the Scottish Greyhound Sanctuary and the details are in this fundraising group.

It's impossible to celebrate the history and heritage of the Tweed Valley without mention of one of the UK's oldest Victorian letterpress printers: Robert Smail's Printing Works NTS
This living, breathing museum has had a presence on Innerleithen High Street since 1866, and continues to operate as a letterpress printers and shop today.
Keep an eye on the printing worksβ socials for details of upcoming workshops and events.
Oh, and did we mention that the museum is also a finalist in this year's South of Scotland Thistle Awards? They're in the running for the Best Visitor Attraction Award 2024 β we'll be rooting for them all the way!

Bowhill House & Grounds and St Mary's Loch are both within easy reach of Cosaig (and each other). Our young tester gave the adventure playground at Bowhill 10/10. The only issue with St Mary's Loch is the traffic jams on the way home ππππ
Walking, biking, canoeing.... here's another way to get round in the Tweed Valley. What a beautiful evening for it πͺ

Houses, businesses and people all in their finery. It must be St. Ronan's Border Games . Roll on Games Saturday β€
When I was small summer holidays meant raspberry jam. We'd take a bowl and pick beside a path then Mum spent the evening boiling up the jam in a big (aluminium π) pan.
Nowadays I find doggy bags come in very handy when I am bowl-lessπ ...and I can guarantee that the big pan in Cosaig is stainless steel!
Fancy holidaying and jam- making? We'll soon be coming into bilberry and blackberry season.
Cosaig is available 3rd -6th and 15th-21st September

Walking, biking, canoeing.... here's another way to get round in the Tweed Valley. What a beautiful evening for it πͺ
Not long now until St. Ronan's Border Games, a highlight of the year in Innerleithen. Oscar is wondering if the Pipe Band might welcome him π€ He has been practicing twirling his baton. We are booked up for the Games but just for information here are the last remaining dates available this year: 16th-18th September -NOW BOOKED 10th-14th October 28th October- 2nd November 7-11th November 15th-20th November 24th November onwards (including Christmas and Hogmanay)
Ah, getting a wee bit nostalgic looking at this video from 5 years ago. Our old boy Lukey is sadly no longer with us but seeing photos of him always brings a smile. As for the cottage, we have more comfy sofas but apart from that not much else has changed! We have Friday 21st - Monday 24th April available if you would like to see for yourselves....
Oscar celebrated his second Gotcha Day playing "catch me if you can " by the Tweed with two of his best buddies. Max meanwhile stayed curled up on the sofa . One lot of zoomies this morning was enough for him π
Max and Oscar were full of beans on the first day of the year ... Wishing you all a happy and healthy 2022!
What better activity on a soggy day than to watch some very determined salmon up at the Cauld?
Oscar says that we have missed mentioning a huge selling point for Cosaig. He said we should tell the dogs in Facebook world about the superb sticks up for grabs in the nearby woods. Do we have any other stick obsessed hounds out there? π
Max and Oscar had some serious fun zooming today. We'll gloss over the mud rolling and wash that followed π±
