LOVE that I get to make music with so many kids in schools and use music to help aid communication, expression, motor skills, socialisation and encourage active participation. I love seeing the enjoyment and all the progress everyone makes week by week!

Always fancied learning piano but not had opportunity? Used to play but don't have an instrument to practice on anymore? Want to give it a go without forking out for a piano or don't have space at home?

We now have a public piano at Inshes Library 😍 Available to all. Interested? Drop in and ask staff about it. Note: to respect other library users please use headphones but we would love to have some informal performances too 🤩

Remembering a very special boy today. 🧡
I always had so much fun making music and exploring sounds with Reece and it was such a privilege to record his heartbeat and play music along with it to give Reece a voice that could be heard by everyone. A forever Rock Star 🎶🧡

It’s world music therapy week! Here in the highlands of Scotland myself Harmony Music Therapy Scotland Inverness area and PULSE Music Therapy Fort William area provide music therapy sessions. We believe everyone, kids and grown-ups, should have the opportunity to learn a musical instrument if they want to.

However, cost can be a barrier to trying something new when you are not sure if you will like it. As a parent, you don't want to spend a fortune on something that your child may be bored with in a couple of weeks!

We are planning a solution with the Rokzkool Instrument Library!

Our dream is to have a huge bank of instruments and you can borrow one to try out at home. If you love it, you can keep it for longer. If it's not for you, come back in and swap it for something different!

Behind the scenes, we are working hard to secure funding to launch this service as soon as possible and are also appealing to the public to donate any instruments they no longer need or love. We are pretty sure there are many unused instruments gathering dust in cupboards and attics which could be given a new lease of life.

We hope to have the library set up later in the year ready for budding musicians to come and find their new passion!

If you are interested in signing up for this service, please fill in the form here - https://www.rokzkoolbookings.org/library

If you have an instrument to donate, please fill in the form here - https://www.rokzkoolbookings.org/rehome

Thinking of all the wonderful mothers (and all parents) who I see each week, with children with additional and complex needs. You give everything you’ve got to help your children be seen, heard and to have the best lives possible when it’s not always easy. You are all such strong and inspiring women. Wishing you all the most wonderful Mother’s Day. ❤️
