Catching up on here about my recent work Skye ⛰️💨🌧️☀️💃 🚐

Northern end 3 with Mike, working for . We tackled technical 2 munros of the northern 3 first poor visibility then over to a very breezy Bruach na Frithe. Clouds were lifting and we rewarded incredible views to the north and over to Raasay. Mike was speedy so we both fancied a retuning down on a different route via Sgurr a Bhastier.👌🏻 Brillaint day!

Other day was mega wet & windy so I hid in the van 🚐 till in the evening, the forecast was due to be very sunny. I asked my deaf client Eilidh if she fancied tackling one of her munros wish list and she was up for it. We both were excited as clouds were lifting as we walked up and hoping to experience an incredible west coast sunset on the ridge but the forecast lied!😭😭 We had zero visibility on the ridge but still had fun tackling Sgurr MhicChonnich.
Following day, we started later and did the ‘Invisible’ Pinnacle. Her hearing aid’s battery was flat half way up on In Pinn but luckily it doesn’t affect us because we can sign to each other!🤙🏻 It was slippery & breezy on the Pinn and luckily the heavy down pour happened as we left the Pinn.
Hoping to guide more deaf people/BSL users in the future 🙌🏻

Other two days were working alongside other guides for , turned out they’re all my besties! .morris94 & Connor. Mega social 2 days guiding 7 keen clients. A day on An Dorus munros. WHAT A JOY to be short roping on a bone dry rock! And the final (very chilly strong winds) day we did Sgurr Nan Gillean and Am Bastier then wild abseils off other side 🤙🏻

Eilidh, a deaf client reached out to first and they put me in contact to for a guiding day on the Cuillin ridge. I was more than delighted to take a deaf client out on the ridge! Eilidh has moderate to severely hearing loss and uses hearing aids. She can sign and lip reads. We communicate by BSL the entire time!

Here’s Eilidh on half way up on Inaccessible Pinnacle and signing us some words:
“Hi! I’m climbing on Skye today. My name is Eilidh (signed her sign name ‘smile’). I’m climbing on In Pinn with Morag, she is a deaf mountain guide. A brilliant experience and also feels scary. Look at the views! You can see the mist & rain and the mountain look steep & technical. Now I want to say it’s a fantastic experience to be with a mountain guide and encourage you all to try!“

Here’s some pictures & notes from my recent work on Skye.
It was a full long weekend of poor visibility on the Misty Isle.

A very early start for ‘Invisible’Pinnacle with Nicola & Laura to avoid high winds in the afternoon. It’s thier first time to The Misty Isle. They did incredibly well ascending & lowered off the In Pinn in a tricky condition. Well done ladies! We were down by lunch time and treated ourselves at 😋

Other day I was guiding along with Jack Morris and Sam with 6 clients but 4 turned up for thier 3rd day. I had a pleasure of roping up Lorna to comple her final 3 Cuillin ridge munros, Sgurr nan Eag, Sgurr Dubh Mor and Sgurr Alasdair. Working for .climbing.company.

Other day I went up for a solo exploring to get to know the ridge more and other day I hid in the van while outside was like a washing machine 😶‍🌫️

Costal de Cummingston yesterday with Chris and Lucy. Yesterday was day 2 with Chris, day one we spent 1 to 1 at Kingussie Crag about a month ago introducing the world of trad climbing. He was a speedy learner. His partner Lucy joined us for day 2 to allow Chris to learn to lead and also gives Lucy an opportunity to refresh her trad leading skills & builing her confidence. They were very smooth throughout the day and succeeded thier first sea stack adventure (without me towing them up) 🙌🏻 Well done team, looking forward to hear more of your rock adventures.
I’ve barely seen my dog Aila throughout the day, the group of kids from Outfit Morag have kept her entertained entire day on the beach 😄 She was absolutely exhausted when the kids left!

I can tailor climbing day(s) to suit your needs whether you want to experience / ticking off classic routes or introduction to trad climbing, learn to lead or/and become independently on multi pitch routes. Or would like to focus on refreshing your climbing skills such as rope work, gear placements, anchor building.. the list goes on! Sport Climbing workshop is also available.
