The Scottish Highlands are steeped in history where myths and legends abound. But what is the true story of the ‘Pink House’ on Loch Glass (as featured on )? ‘Culzie Lodge’ to give it its correct title is neither really a lodge nor a house, more of a shell as it is devoid of internal walls and even an upper floor! Mysterious indeed!🤔
And as for our friend Nessie…are you a faithful believer or suspicious sceptic? 🕵️♀️
How about the beautiful ‘An Lochan Uaine’ or the ‘Green Loch’? Just look at the magical colour of that water - and it really is magical if you are to believe the legend that those gorgeous greens are caused by fairies washing their green clothes in the loch!🧚
Meanwhile, along the road at Loch Morlich, it appears to be a tale of two halves. The King of Fairies was believed to live on the west side, whilst the east side was home to ‘The Sceptre of the Bloody Hand’, a fearsome sounding Highlander with one hand dripping in blood and who had the unusual hobby of challenging anyone he met to a fight to the death. But apparently he did have a softer side as the protector of animals!😅
The last of the featured lochs is ‘Loch an Eilein’, with a lovely circular walk around its perimeter. And you know how we love a loch and a castle in Scotland? Well here we have a ruined castle, right in the middle of the loch…and what a history it has, harbouring fugitives and the like - I am sure it could tell many a tale of treachery and deceit!
Why not come and stay at apartments to unravel the mystery and delve into the history?😊
