Today is #WomenInMaritimeDay 🛳️
To honour this years campaign theme 'Safe Horizons: Women Shaping the Future of Maritime Safety', we sat down with our Safety Officer Abbie on Borealis to get her thoughts on maritime safety and what it's like to be a woman working at sea.
Here's what she had to say...
Have you met Abbie on board before?
As a cruise line originating from Norway, celebrating Norway Day today is very special to us. 🇳🇴
Not only do we frequently explore the different regions of Norway, showing off the most beautiful and remote regions, but we have our very own Norwegian Captain, Steffan Ravneng.

Farewell Braemar
Today, beautiful Braemar departed from Rosyth on a new adventure.
Having joined the Fred. Olsen fleet in 2001, she quickly became a firm favourite. At a smaller size, carrying just over 900 guests, she was able to get into many smaller and more remote ports of call and sail through narrow waterways; becoming the biggest ship to sail through the iconic Corinth Canal in 2019. 🛳️
We know our crew and guests have lovely memories on sailing on Braemar, so we have put together some videos of her time with us and our crew's farewell wishes.
We'd love to hear your memories, too; submit them here to be featured on our Memories of Braemar website page: https://bit.ly/3UXqsgP or share them with us in the comments below.
Thank you, Braemar. 💙
Bolette is currently sailing the Azores, where her itinerary was specially-crafted to cross the path of the Solar Eclipse. 🌒
Last night, despite the cloudy weather, guests were able to enjoy a special event, complete with eclipse glasses to see the sky's changing brightness during this fascinating phenomenon.
Have you witnessed a Solar Eclipse before?
