What a storm we had yesterday, and it's still a bit windy today. It's lovely to know it didn't stop our returning guests having a great weekend. They were meant to visit the Victorian Christmas event at Blists Hill, but unfortunately, it was cancelled due to the weather. We can certainly recommend visiting the Darby Houses during your stay. RoseHill House and Dale House are next to each other and just a short walk up the hill from the Coalbrookdale Museum of Iron. 🙋‍♀️The volunteers there are really friendly and explain the history of the houses. Free entry with Ironbridge museums pass or £7 to enter both of the houses. The Darby family managed the Ironworks for five generations. Some of the rooms have been restored to what it would have been like in the late 18th century and some original family furniture. From the parlour, there is a room with costumes that the Darbys in the 1840s would have worn for you to try on.
