Found it at last! The doctor's bath on the Corrie shore. Wasn't brave enough for a dip but never say never!!
Believed to have been created around 1835 as a curative bath for Dr McCredy's patients, the bath fills daily with the tide flow. Measuring around 12ft x 5ft x 5ft deep, there's plenty of room with convenient steps carved to allow access. Go on, I dare you...

A few wee pics from over the weekend....nowhere better! Largymore is 5 mins walk from the house and lovely to sit and let the world go by. The car park at Croc na Dail is a great spot for a picnic with a view on the road from Lamlash to Brodick. No filters were applied. It really is this blue!!

North Ayrshire Council’s parking enforcement officers will soon be patrolling parking lots and streets on Arran to enforce parking violations.

For those travelling to and from the island, I recommend you download the Calmac status app to keep up to date with any ferry alterations. Also remember there are 2 ferry routes to the island if your first choice is unavailable, and the scenery is amazing en route if sailing to Lochranza!!

Breakfast with a view. Excellent vegan stack at Little Rock, Brodick. Worth a trip over just for that 😂

Happy new Year everyone and welcome to all our new followers. Looking forward to welcoming new and returning guests in 2024 on this beautiful island. Here are a few pics and short videos (bit wobbly, sorry!) taken over the weekend to tempt you. Most were taken at Kildonan shore 10 mins drive from the house........ just me, the birds (ringed plover, curlew, oystercatchers to name but a few) and a curious seal. Heaven.........

Wishing everyone a happy and healthy 2024!

The Lamlash Bay No Take Zone shows how Highly Protected Marine Areas should be done. With community support at 97% and research showing an increase in marine life diversity, the protected areas around Arran demonstrate the progress that can be made towards healthy seas and thriving coastal communities when people are empowered and engaged in marine decision-making.

Attention UK wildlife lovers. Basking shark season is here in the UK! 🦈

From May to October, these gentle giants can be spotted along the British coast, with sightings more likely in the South-West, particularly around Devon and Cornwall.

So grab your binoculars and start searching for these magnificent creatures. If you're lucky enough to encounter a basking shark while diving or on a boat, make sure to follow our latest guidelines for safe and responsible interaction. You can download our free poster from our website.

And don't forget to report any sightings of basking sharks on the Shark Trust app. Save this post as a reminder, and let's make this season one to remember! 🦈
