We have been in consultation with Caledonian MacBrayne with regard to the number of bookable spots for bicycles on the Oban to Castlebay route. We are pleased to announce that more availability for bookable spots has now opened up so please check back on the Calmac website for booking.

If you don't get a booking for your bicycle then you can still go to the ferry and the staff will do their best to accommodate, although it is not a guarentee. This is the same for all the Calmac routes.

Cycling the Hebridean Way this year?

We’ve teamed up with Police Scotland Highland & Islands, CalMac Ferries and Bùth Bharraigh to encourage visitors to enjoy our island roads safely. The roads are mostly quiet, but following these handy tips can help make your visit safer and more enjoyable:

⬅️ Always keep to the left

↔️ Use passing places to allow oncoming traffic past

🚲 If you’re a slower vehicle or cyclist, pull in to allow traffic to overtake

🚨 Many people in our communities are on call, including firefighters, doctors, coastguard, and lifeboat crew. They use their own vehicles which don’t have blue lights, so may flash their headlights. Please pull in to let them past

🦌 Beware of our sheep, deer and cattle which can wander onto our roads

🚶🏿‍♀️ Drivers should slow down when passing walkers and cyclists

📣TARTAN AND TIARAS 2024 - HEADLINE ACT ANNOUNCEMENT📣

We are beside ourselves with excitement! Skipinnish will be our headline act for our gala ball in May.

We cannot describe how thrilled we are that the Celtic music supergroup have made time in their busy 25th anniversary year to entertain our amazing guests at the annual Glasgow event.

Skipinnish have been one of our biggest supporters from day one, having done so many amazing activities to raise money to help us support young musicians in Eilidh’s name. Co-founder Angus MacPhail penned the beautiful ‘Wishing Well’ in tribute to Eilidh which includes the lyrics we use as our mission:
“Your spirit was strong, now silent your song,
But your soul with the Polestar shines on.”

We honestly can’t wait! Roll on May 4th. Make sure you don’t miss out on what promises to be a top night. Grab your tickets now. https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/eilidhs-trust-tartan-tiaras-ball-2024-tickets-771404871737

We are so grateful to Angus, co-founder Anndra Stevenson all the band for their continued support. We are so lucky to have them on our side.

Skipinnish have joined Scots singer-songwriter Callum Beattie and young trad-fusion band DLÙ as our on-stage entertainment line-up for the ball.
