Today marks one year since we began our journey at Blackadon Farm, and what an incredible year it's been!
We have been so lucky to have inherited the most amazing and supportive team in Steve and Karen, they have become special friends of ours over the past year and they have played a major part in the success of Blackadon Farm this year.
The most rewarding part has been meeting our wonderful new and returning guests. We've listened to your feedback and are thrilled to unveil our upgraded guest amenities, including the new Dog Wash, Drying Room, The Hive and revamped Haven. Here’s a sneak peek just for you! 🐾🚿✨

We had a wonderful start to the half term break with a visit to Lukesland Gardens in Ivybridge. The autumnal colours were on full display alongside the many waterfalls and pathways. According to our daughter the chocolate cake at the tea room was the best yet. The gardens and tea room are dog friendly so Major and Buddy came along too.

Happy Birthday to our superstar maintenance man Steve Cluney. Steve is the reason that the cottages are maintained to such a high standard, and we are lucky to have him as part of our team.

We are also proud to announce that he was September 2024’s employee of the month!

🌳 Exciting News! 🌱 Our new picnic benches have arrived from Rattery Sawmill, and they're the perfect blend of comfort and sustainability!

Rattery Sawmill is a family run, traditional sawmill, using only the finest local timber predominantly sourced from Devon and Cornwall.

Not only do they look great, they are designed for maximum comfort.

We’re sure our guests will spend time relaxing on them,and enjoying the views over The South Hams from our guest lawn for many years to come.

It's been a momentous week for Buddy this week, he has graduated from Plymouth Puppy College and even being awarded Puppy of the Week. He still has a few things to learn but he brings so much fun to Blackadon Farm

So the summer holidays are in full swing and it’s busy at Blackadon Farm. It’s important to take breaks though, so here’s the team enjoying much earned tea and cake. Thank you Sandy at Dartmoor Larder for the delicious cake donation, it’s always appreciated.

We love our Ridan Composters and it has already completely eliminated our need for food waste to be taken off site. We have lots of exciting plans and we know that all our various plants and trees will benefit from the compost produced so we will be very busy in the garden and grounds around Blackadon Farm 🪴 🌳🧅

This week we have witnessed plenty of action on our new video bird feeder. It seems like a never ending job just keeping all our bird feeders topped up, to ensure our local wild bird population are well fed and content.
So far we have had Eurasian Jays, Jackdaws, Nuthatches, Robins, Blue t**s and a Green Woodpecker to name but a few.
We also regularly hear the Owls and Cuckoos in the surrounding woodlands.
