Our self catering holiday cottage is located just 5 minutes from Keswick in the popular village of Threlkeld. The 200 year old cottage, which was once the village school, is available all year round. Sleeping up to 6 people, the accommodation is deceptively spacious, and is decorated, furnished and equipped to a very high standard. The cottage is very popular and we have many repeat visitors. It has a cosy lounge, with TV, DVD, video player and CD/hi-fi, separate dining room, fully fitted kitchen, with fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher, utility/drying room with washer/dryer, and downstairs toilet. Upstairs there are 3 bedrooms (2 double bedrooms both with Kingsize beds and 1 twin). There is an en-suite shower room to one of the doubles and a separate large bathroom with toilet, sink and shower over the bath. The twin room also has a sink. The cottage benefits from oil central heating and all windows are double glazed. There is ample parking for 2 cars on the drive plus a garage for car/bike storage. It has both an enclosed front garden and rear patio with garden furniture and extensive views of Blencathra and Clough End. Also, from inside the cottage there are superb views across the fells and mountains from all windows. Threlkeld village is three miles from Keswick situated at the foot of Blencathra mountain, which is very popular with fell walkers. The cottage is ideally located for those looking for a picturesque base from which to explore the northern Lakes and fells with many walks and cycling tracks right on the doorstep. There are two good pubs, both serving excellent food, within a short stroll from the cottage. There is also a children's play area nearby. For keen golfers, just across the road is Keswick golf club, which is open to visitors.
